Hi,
I just bought a 1996 JD 755 with 270hrs. It has a FEL, 60" belly mower, 5ft back blade, front weights, & a trailer hitch adaptor. 4x4 hydrostatic P.S. with new tires in the front. I got it from a homeowner who sold his house & is moving to a subdivision. He used it to cut about 2 acres of grass. It's in nice shape, bucket has no dents. I payed $8500 for her. Does that seem like a fair price? Also are there any inherited or specific problems with this model, from what I can tell they quit making them in 1998.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Happy & Proud to own a Deere

The important question to you is, "are you satisfied with the tractor?" It's irrelevent what others think about the price you paid. Obviously you felt the price was fair and you were able to afford it. ;). Congrats on your JD..have fun, be safe. ....

The tractor alone is worth between $8500 & $9300. The rest of the impliments were gravy. Looks like you came out pretty good on that deal. Congratulations! Enjoy the tractor therapy! ;o) ....

Magilla, do yourself a BIG favor and unless the owner can conclusively prove to you that all the maintenance is current and up to date; replace ALL the fluids and filters. This is VERY cheap insurance, establishes a maintenance base line that you know is done, and will expose possible mechanical problems if they exhist by showing contamination in the oils and filters. Make sure you run a good fuel additive to help keep the fuel system clean and lubricated. I run a mix of John Deere Summer Formula and Howes Diesel Treat. Remove all the covers and clean the entire tractor. (pressure washer with reasonable NOT high pressure) A clean tractor is a happy tractor. Finally, if possible store indoors or at least under cover. Good luck and enjoy! ....
