Anybody have suggestions on a proper Backhoe for a John Deere 855? It will be used mainly for drainage tile work.
I searched through prior posts. Saw a couple discussed. I see no one mentioning the bushhog brand, is their a problem with theirs.

Somewhere in the archives is a discussion on backhoe pedigrees. As I recall one company makes hoes that are marketed under quite a few brand names. It might be good to find the discussion because maybe several of the alternatives you're looking at are essentially the same hoe. I you can't find the threads by subject, I think Mark Lugo (MarkL) posted in a fair number of them. There was an Italian manufactured hoe discussed that got pretty good play. Maybe somebody recalls the name of it.
Unless you're considering 3ph hoes (also a lot archive discussion) the first thing I'd check for in an after-market hoe is if the manufacturer supplied a sub-frame for the tractor. After that, I'd check the hoe's spec for minimum pressure and flow requirement to ensure the tractor is big enough for the hoe. I'd also think about your max depth and reach requirements. I wouldn't get a hoe any larger than required for the intended work. Hoes do stress tractor frames quite a bit.
