I hear people say to change to a synthetic oil to eleveate cold weather noise but when I am hearing this noise is it harmful to the tramnsmission or anythingelse. Or is it simply to get away from the anoying noise and general sluggeshness?

When you here your hydraulic system making those noises when cold it is because it doesn't have the flow of oil it needs to do it's job. Kind of like us before our first cup of coffee in the morning. It's just that it damages the hydraulic system of the tractor, but I guess we could damage a relationship during that time in the morning as what we say may offend someone. Let it warm up, or if you have to move it do it slowly till it can warm up. ....
