Wondering if anyone has seen or tried one of these implements? Supposedly it replaces the box scraper, the scarifier and the finish rake. I got the video - seems impressive. Anyone seen one in real life?Big Eddy

We have a very similar device (same basic item, different maker) as this and use it regularly. To say that it could replace all those items is, well, about as optimistic as saying gas prices, taxes, and inflation are going next week. It is not as good as a pulverizer or scarifiers at breaking up hard-pan, it takes several passes to acomplish the grading of a box blade or even York rake, it will however make a really nice finish, but even then it won't pick the stones and debris out as well as a York rake. The basic problem is it itsn't heavy enough to really bite into the ground. The best use I have ever found for it is grooming horse rings. Best of luck. ....

I have a flexible harrow that claims to perform all those functions. It works well on scarifying and smoothing if the soil is soft but will not smooth hard soil. I like it as it doesnot require much to pull and use it behind the seeder or fertizer speader to smooth and work the seeds or fertizer in. It odes work to scarify but not as well. ....

We sold a number of the skid steer mounted units back when mcmillen was marketing them. They worked quite well on a skid steer but we never sold any three point units. ....

Also impressive, at least to me, was the Harley rake that I rented. This has a powered roller with 2" spikes (fingers) that dig in, kicking debris (rocks, etc) forward and letting the dirt (fines) roll over the roller to the rear. Angling it will allow the debris to windrow to the side, or straight it will keep the debris going forward. If wanting to run deep, just move slower. There appear to be several different sizes, from 3pt to skidsteer. When I used one and after a few passes, I had a lot of fine dirt pile up that I moved (dragged) by turning the PTO off and just dragged it along with the unpowered rake. Just passing info along. Not sure how it compares to the other tools mentioned here, but sure is a great tool to go from rough lot to one with a seedbed ready for seeding in one to just a few passes. Picking up the windrowed rocks with the loader bucket worked great too. The link is glenmac.com. ....
