I'm curious, there seem to be no posts on Agco compact tractors. I'm looking at an Agco ST35 or possibly the ST30x (stripped down version of their ST30). The ST35 seems to fall somewhere between the Kubota L3000 and L4300 series. (HP similar to the L3000, options and lifting weight similar to L4300). Anyone have any comments on Agco in general, and the ST35 (or ST30x) in particular? How do they stack up against Kubota or John Deere?

Check out the Massey Ferguson Compact 1200 series {Iseki} for sister units... I'm told Agco is doing what Iveco/Fiat/New Holland did with Case/IH... ....

Thanks for the tip on the M-F 1200 series (being sisters to the Agco tractors). So far, I haven't been able to find much info on the MF 1200. About the only comment I've heard on M-F in general was that they are more expensive to maintain and parts are tougher to get (this was from a couple of dealers for competing brands). Can you comment on their reliability, and whether there is any truth to these claims?

I have put 30 hrs on my ST30x. I like it alot. It has a FEL and I run a 6' brush hog and a 6' box blade. The power is more than enough. I use a KK middle buster to break ground that has laid fallow for about 50 years. I only wish I had ag tires, I tend to run out of traction before I run out of power. I use about 1 gallon per hr no matter what I am doing.
