I am looking for a small scraper for transporting dirt from one end of my acreage to the other end. (600 feet) I want to be able to level it with the scraper, as well as carrying dirt.(I need to be able to lift the scraper of the ground, while transporting dirt.) What brand and type would work best. I have a 14hp Kubota which has the 3 Pt. hitch. So it can't be to large of scraper. Any help on choosing the right one would be great. Thanks

As far as I know, all of the scrapers simply drag the dirt over the ground. The bottom of the scraper is open. By the time you get to where you are going you will either have no dirt or lots of fresh dirt. What you won't have is the dirt that you started with. No scraper will lift the dirt up and carry it like you want. A 3 point rear scoop is an economical tool and will pick up dirt up and carry it, but it won't do the leveling when you get there.
The only answer that I know if is a front end loader. They will do both jobs but it takes a while. I hope that someone else has a better idea. ....

Tri-Tech Services produces several attachments for small tractors including a a scaled down construction style scraper called a "Dirt Pan". There is a picture on their web page. I hope the link works.

I intend to purchase one for my JD4700 to perform similar tasks.

Let me know what you think of the "Dirt Pan".

That is exactly what I am looking for,it looks a little pricey. If guy could get his hands on a used model, that would be great. I only need it for one summer. Are there any other manufacturers of a similar implement. ....

That Dirt Pan sure looks like it would be fun to run if you had enough tractor to pull it. For the price I think I'd rather have a front loader though. I see that Tri-Tech offers a complete loader for $1900!! Lowest price I've ever seen. Has anyone ever ordered one? ....

Yes there are others. There is a guy in my town that has moved over 100,000 cu. yds. of fill with a 28hp Kubota and a scraper like the one on the referred to website. I don't know who made the one he is using but it sure moved a lot of dirt! He is a retired builder that bought some land to develop and just started moving the hill to the valley. I has taken him over 2 yrs. on and off of moving. He said that he is not interested in getting a real mover as it keeps him out of the house. LOL>... what a way to do it. HIs is about 6 ft and hauls about twice what his loader would haul. could ask him if i run into him but he goes south for winter. ....

If you could ask him, the manufacture and where he got it, if you bump in to him. That would be incredibly good of you. Thanks ....

I just received an email from Tri-Tech. They no longer manufacture the dirt pan or any other Ag equipment.

Oh, bummer! I'd bookmarked their site. Well, I hope they remember to remove the Ag stuff from their product listings. ....

I made phone contact with the Tri-Tech today. The company has parts on hand to produce several Dirt Pans and other AG equipment. I will advise as soon as I can confirm the price and delivery.

Not that it would be very useful behind a compact, but in the business of building golf courses we use a drop-bottom scraper built up here in Canada that moves dirt like nothing else around can. If someone was reall handy they could make a smaller version, I did years ago for a guy who maintains driveways and such for a side job. It was about 6' wide and held the equivalent of 2 good loader buckets full, which in limestone screenings is quite a bit of weight. Best of luck. ....

Murph,

I am about 100 hp short to use the Leon scraper.

The 1.5 cuyd Tri-Tech dirt pan is about the right size for me.

Murf,
Do you have any experience with the Eversman carryall scaper?
There is not get enough info on their web page: see Arts's-way.
The difficulty in finding a suitable dirt pan for our compact tractors, is unbelieveable.
BTW: Tri-Tech will make a decision wether or not to restart their AG Prodcut line within the next two weeks. So if anyone is interested, a nice email to Tom Donald at Tri-Tech would be appreciated.
