well it finally turned cold and i need to change the transmission and engine oils to winter grade. belarus 1770 powershift.... i ran the sae 40 as the summer temps were 100 plus degrees this summer but the literature i can find calls for sae 30 or 20 in cold weather. now mind you the literature is for ukraine and not central USA,so i think the sae30 will probably be my choice for now. if anyone has any updated info from canada maybe??? i would appreciate your opinions. this is my first belarus tractor. Thanks

Most that I’ve spoken to up here run Shell Rotella 15W40 all year-round in the engine. With a rad hose type of block heater it’s never a truly ‘cold start’ and the engine seems to start better.

If you don’t already have one (or more) get a magnetic block heater for the transmission/ hydraulics, it makes a huge difference in performance when first started.

Best of luck. ....
