Looking for some help on my LT1000. I turn the key to RUN and the DC Amps pegs all the way right (+). Turn it to START and the starter spins but dosen't rise up and engage the Fly wheel. Everything seem to check out. Any feedback will be helpful. Thank you!!

The starter has a solenoid that pulls the starter gear into contact with the flywheel. If the solenoid does not have enough current, or is sorta stuck it spins. A weak battery or bad corroded terminals can cause this or a worn out solenoid.

On an old garden Tractor I had I used to smack it to un stick the solenoid. ....

try to jump start it to give it an extra boost,if it doesnt engage its most likely the solenoid, saw the other reply about tapping it with a hammer, thats worked before for me but i still ended up changing the started, depending on model, type, age etc..a starter may be cheaper and better fix than a solenoid, let us know what you discover ....
