My diesel gator really torques the engine towards the tranny when revved up. is there suppose to be a spreader bar that keeps that from happening? all the motor mounts are fine. Its a 2000 diesel model 6x4,,, My concern is that when the motor is revving up and the gator is moving there is a period of time in the belt and clutches travel where the belt is loose enough to vibrate to where you can feel it.

I ran the gator for years with a messed up drive clutch and really didn't notice anything with the belt. Now I replaced both clutches and the belt with New JD parts and notice the issue,,, the motor was locked up when I bought the gator and I replaced it with a 3tne68 yanmar instead of the 3tne66. I do not remember a brace on the motor before but the machine had been worked on alot when I bough it.

I have found images of a curved bar running from the back of the tranny down to the bottom of the motor but cant find any information on where it attaches to the motor,,, I'm thinking the back of a starter mounting bolt

I found to bar in a parts manual,, part number

M114030 - Rod - ROD, STRUT,,,

Any help would be appreciated

The rod you speak of is only for the gas motors. The diesels have a mount on the driver's side that is supposed to address the forward/rear motion. Adjusting it is detailed in the shop manual, but I don't know how much it helps. Diesel motors shake so bad normally that they can't be tied down solid like the gas motors. ....

OK I found the mount you mentioned but cannot find anywhere how to check belt tightness for adjustment? Can you please point me in the right direction? The mount looks like it could be shimmed to limit motion some.

My main concern is that the belt seems to loose, it is actually rubbing on the outside of the belt against the gator frame on the bottom and is very close to hitting the exhaust manifold on the top. The writing on the outside of the belt is being rubbed off. ....
