Hi, I'm having a prob with my bucket not curling up. We did have a leak with the hoses now they are fixed. If we let the tractor sit over night the bucket will curl once, drop it and then it will curly half way the next time it will curl 1/4 the way then nothing. But each time the bucket stops on its own we hear a clank like a light hammer hitting on or close to the motor and when it stops it does so abruptly at the same time with the noise like a metal valve closing. Any help will be appreciated, I'm stumped.

Buddyholly,

It sure sounds to me like you have a faulty hydraulic hose connection. Check your quick disconnects at the loader connection site. You may also have a bad QD fitting. This problem is not uncommon.

Easy way to check for yourself. Hook up the hoses in the opposite configuration so that you'll use the bucket curl valve to operate the loader lift arms. Does the loader lift OK? If not...you've found your problem.

Hope this helps.

Joel ....

It also sounds like a quick disconnect could be kicking out when pressure is being applied. If you test as Joel said that would also show up. Might be a little trash not letting it seat properly.

If this is the new hose might be something wrong with the hose, such as trash in it. ....

Well we took the quick disconnects apart and saw on the male end dimples around the end of them one being really bad so we replaced just the male ends. Put it back together and it worked! We thank you very much and lesson learned!

Buddyholly,

That's great news. Thanks for sharing the outcome, as it will help others who suffer from the same symptoms.

Glad to hear that you got the ol' girl going again.

I am in the course of rebuilding a boom mower and could not get one cylinder to retract. Then noticed one hose kept coming out of the female fitting. Switched the hoses as Joel said to do and no issue. Have to test other male fitting in that female to find out where the issue lies.

That is about as good outcome as you could have hoped for. kt ....

Many if not most companies use a standard qd fitting design. Think call Pioneer style but not 100% certain on that. I would suggest taking one of your current ones with you to the store. But why did the others not fit? Different size or style? ....
