I have found a 2005 Farm Pro with low hours with a loader. I can buy it for around 11000. In reading the forums are their problems with this machine or is it just parts availability? Is it a perkins diesel or a perkins style as I have seen. Any help would be nice.

It's just the Perkins design, no licensing involved that I know of. Other than that, it's a 100% Chinese engine. Far as I know, Homier is still actively selling the FarmPro brand. So that's where I'd look first for parts. But the larger FarmPros are rebadged Fotons, so any Foton dealer should be able to help as well.

Well, I can't speak for what the Obamaconomy may have done to prices recently, but the last time I saw one of the big cabbed Fotons at Rural King, they were marked somewhere between $17K and $18K (new). But to be honest, I don't remember the horsepower. They came with 4 engine options between 70 and 82 horsepower.
The Chinese tractors themselves have a higher reliability factor than do the Chinese loaders though. So I have to say that the used value will depend upon (a) how many hours, and (b) if the loader is Chinese or American.
By comparison, earlier this year I traded two of my Chinese tractors for a new John Deere. The 2004 model KM454 retailed for $10k, I got $4500 for it. The 2006 model TS354C w/American loader retailed for $11.3K, I got $5500 for it. I had clocked a little over 300 hours on each tractor

Well, I'm retired now - and can't be honestly classified as anything more than a hobby farmer at this point. As such, I used the 45hp on my place and rented the 35hp out to an older fella down the road. They were both open station tractors. He started getting a little feeble, and damages to that tractor began to exceed the $100 monthly rent. So I traded both in for a cabbed tractor w/loader. He's still paying me the $100/month. But now when he needs some tractor work done on one of his properties, I do it for him. The cab permits me to come when he calls, rain/snow/heat/whatever.
Anyway, Koyker is a good loader. I had their 160 on the 35hp. But I still don't know how many hours are on the FarmPro you're lookin' at. If they're what you consider to be reasonable, I'm bettin' the guy will take $10K.

He says the tach never worked since new. The tractor shows hardly used. Owner says about two hundred hours. Are filters etc. easy to find? ....

There are differing levels of guile and gullibility. I like to think I can sometimes sort out the wheat from the chaff. I mean - think about it - would you buy a 6 year old used car with zero miles from an owner that said the odometer never worked?
What I read here is an owner that didn't have enough maintenance sense to repair a simple hour meter in six years. Which begs the question; what other maintenance practices were neglected in that same time.
New recommendation: pass it up, unless you're just buying it for spare parts.

Clearly you misunderstood. I was speaking to a potential issue with the seller - not of the potential value of the machine. If I could get a six year old 8240 with an operational Koyker loader AND low usage (as indicated by a working hour meter), I'd have no problem paying $10K for it.
