We were intially thinking John Deere and then Massey Ferguson, and now we were given a good price on a 40 Boomer Series. (41 hp with front loader).

How does the NH tractor measure up to John Deere and M-F?!

Thanks!

I'm sure you could get a good price on any of these established and well-known brands, so I'd first try them out to see how you find them to operate. Then I'd try to find out how supportive that particular dealer is. Then I'd read the blogs (here and on similar sites) on these brands to see what kinds of problems owners report, and what kind of support they get from the dealer and the factory.

Just received my new Boomer 35 on Tuesday. I traded my 24DA in on it. I spent a long time researching, test driving, comparing specs and reading posts from others. I visited every service dept and asked about years of experience, services offered etc. I am very happy with my decision and upgrade. I looked at Kubota, MF, tried JD, and New Holland. I was biased but NH was the last I looked at and was most satisfied with smoothness of tractor, service of dealer, and committment from dealer to discuss price options and openly talked about comparisons. I will recommend Main & Pinckney in Auburn NY to anyone that is looking for a tractor in CNY. ....
