Hi,

I have a 1985 ford 1210 diesel 4wd tractor with no attachments (mower Front end loader etc)
all fenders and such are there. hasnt been run in years but it did run when last used.

I am needing to sell the tractor because I need the money.

Can anyone give me an idea of what a reasonable asking price would be?

Thanks,

Mark

A lot of things enter in to a tractor's value, but having it running would add a lot to yours, probably a new batterie would make it go. There are two 1210's similar to yours with no attachments listed on Tractor house for $3500.00 - $4500.00. I learned from an old hand at selling things thru want ads, etc. not to brag up what you're selling, like good as new, excellent condition, etc. The only things need said are what it is and the price you'd like to get. I've did what the man told me and it does work, people will sell themselves on something. For example 1985 Ford 1210 diesel 4 wheel dr. "as is, where is". 4,500.00, or what ever price you want to use. Say no more than that.

Hi Frank,

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.
I found this forum while using search engines trying to didg up any info at all that would help me arrive at an approximate asking price.

The only site I found that had any pricing info was the tractor house site you mentioned. I had actually found that site before finding Tractor Point.

I did see those prices listed there but not knowing much about old ford tractor prices I thought they sounded high.
and there seemed to be limited pricing info available elsewhere at places such as ebay.

I can say my tractor is not pretty but it is all there and I know there are no major mechanical problems which would limit it to being only a parts tractor.

with a little time and effort someone could have a nice tractor.

I guess Ill try putting it on craigslist or such at around $3000 or $3500 and list as a project and see if anyone shows interest.

at this point I am out of work for an extended period of time so I need the money more than I do a used project tractor.

thanks for the input.

Mark. ....

Sorry for the work situation but agree with Frank, a running tractor is a tractor. One that is not is parts or scrap metal. Check the fluids and use jumper cables and see what it does. If it is sold they will need to haul it and if they can drive it on trailer is one thing, if they must winch it on different issue.

I have never sold on ebay but have bought some things, you might wish to list it there for pickup only. Not throwing off on craiglist, have bought off of it also. Even if rough post picture if possible. ....
