I'm in the process of replacing an oil seal on the left front axle and in result come to find out I also need to replace a bearing. Part # 941-04043... I've tried contacting everyone to get this part and no one has one. Anybody out there that has one I'm extremely interested in purchasing it.
This is the first cub cadet i've owned and possibly the last. I've been searching for 6 months for this part.

Thanks for any help

Dipietro,

I hope I'm able to save you a pile of grief.

There is NO NEED whatsoever to get your bearing through a Cub Cadet dealer. Bearings are easily obtainable from most any business that deals in them.

Remove the old bearing. Be careful not to damage the numbers that are stamped into it. Take your bearing to your nearest dealer and ask for a replacement. There are many good bearing companies who make a replacement for it.

Your bearing will have a number on it, which will probably appear in the following format..

75BC03XP

Whatever your number is, your local dealer will be able to cross reference it for you. This is true for most any bearing.

Hope that helps.

Joel ....

I've already done that! The part number that corresponds to the bearing is 941-04043. I've contacted everyone on the internet that sells this part number ... Nobody and I mean nobody has it in stock. They all say its on back order until the end of January. But that is what they've been using is backing up the back order date for 3 months or so.

I just need the tractor soon ... Any advice is much appreciated! ....

Dipietro,

You have the bearing in your hand, and that number is stampted on it?

Yeah I've already dealt with Partstree, Cub Cadet Directly, MTD, and whoever else google returned for selling this part. There web page says it's available but when you order it or even call them it is on back order, which has been the result for months now.

I just don't understand why something like this can be unavailable for 6 months...

If you have any other ideas or know of anyone that makes customer bearings or would have something that would work, I'd appreciate any assistance greatly!

Have a great day,
Phil ....

Phil,

I still believe that if you physically remove the bearing, you'll find numbers on it that can be cross-referenced by any of the major bearing makers.

Or, with a good set of calipers, the bearing's dimensions can easily be matched up with a suitable replacement.

If you were to clean up the outer edge of that bearing, even while it is still installed in the tractor, I believe you'll find a series of numbers on it. I'd like to have those numbers. I can then quickly find you a replacement bearing.......an EXACT match for your tractor.

Give it a shot. The numbers will be visible on the outer edge of the bearing. They are stamped into the metal. You'll need to clean it well. Use a cotton swab and some diesel fuel. Carefully record the numbers.

Joel,

Sounds good! I definitely try to get this information for you as soon as I can. This is the first time I've used this page for posting and I'm very surprised there are still people like you in this world that is still willing to help others.

Thanks again,

Phil,

There are many good folks on this message board who are always willing to help.

Stop by and provide us with the bearing numbers you find. Or, you can take those numbers straight to your local bearing dealer. He'll have an exact match for you.

Some people are picky about the bearings they buy. I'm partial to Timkin Bearings.......but there are other manufacturers who make excellent bearings, as well. SKF, NSK, Timken....all good brands. I'd shy away from some of the others.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Joel ....

In the meantime I contacted cub and they gave me the specifics on the bearings, but I'm not having any luck finding a replacement.

The specifics they gave me, were the following:
Tappered Roller Bearing
.55 OD x 30 ID

I'll contact some others for any additional information.

Thanks again,
Phil ....

Dipietro,

With those dimensions, any bearing supplier will be able to help you.

Your bearing supplier will also need to know if you have a roller bearing, a ball bearing, (double or single row), and whether or not it is a tapered bearing. There is other information contained in the numbers stamped on the bearing, such as the type of race the bearing has.

Your best bet is to take the numbers directly from the bearing. That will provide all the information they'll need.

Joel ....

Thanks a bunch. I'll get those series of numbers and see what my local bearing companies have to offer. I've got a request submitted into the places you advised, but no response yet.

Thanks again,
Phil ....

No expert on this as Joel is but still remember from about 40 years back being surprised the number off the bearing is all they want. Did not care what it came from. See parts are parts! But quality does vary. I have never taken a bearing to any major parts store and them not be able to help me. Now never taken a disk axle one to them. ....

Does anyone know the specs of this bearing I'm trying to replace, meaning ALL the information I'd need to supply a bearing manufacturer to be able to get the exact replacement? I HATE cub cadet parts availability ... I've been waiting for this to become available and it's been on backorder for 5 months. CC is know saying it won't be available "approximately" until 03/25.

My mechanic damaged the bearing when he was extracting it and we can't make out the number on it, therefore I can't get the info I need from the bearing itself.

Yeah the description on parttrees.com states that it is a "Bearing, Tapered Roller w/ Race ..."

Does that help? How could I look to see if the one your referencing would be the exact fit or not?

Do you know the part number according to Suzuki ....

I don't work at a dealer any more. If I had the number, it wouldn't help because you don't have a number. Here is a site that shows all the bikes that have that size bearing.

If it is a standar 55 od x 30 id x 17 thick taper roller bearing the SKF bearing number is 32006X. That bearing should be available from any local bearing company or industrial distributor. If you go to skf.com and enter that number in the search you should be able to see a picture of it for comparison.
