I have a John Deere 1050 with a 2048 Loader. It is a quick attach. The hydraullic fluid was milky so I drained it. I am sure there was bad fluid still in the system. How do I completely drain all the fluid out then bleed the system so it will operate? I have milky fluid again because of the contaminated fluid and now I need to drain it again. Please help me, thank you

It's almost impossible to get every bit of fluid out of a tractor. Hoses, remote cylinders on the outside, three point cylinder, internal passages, pumps, power steering lines on the inside, all of those will retain some of the old fluid.
You can loosen the hoses fromm the external loader cylinders to drain them to a certian extent. Being the old fluid was milky it was contaminated with water. Water naturally acumilates in transmissions, engines, etc, but perhaps there is somewhere that rain water leaks in, check it out.
Check under the tractor sometimes there are more than one drain plug on the transmission/rear housing.
Fluid is kind of expensive to use as a flush but that's about the only way. On old farm tractors I have flushed with a couple fills of diesel fuel, but I doubt that would be a good practice with todays tight bearing tolerances and pricey hydraukic pumps in the tractor. You could call a
Deere dealership and ask the service manager about the diesel fuel flush, it may be allowed???

Thank you for your response. Do you know how to bleed the system? I am very concerned with it. The pump seems very sluggish but I am hoping it is just air and the contaminated fluid. ....

We had a machine get submerged while running and the hydraulics got a big gulp of water.
We drained it as best we could then unhooked at least 2 places in each circuit and used compressed air to blow out as much contaminated oil as possible. After that we refilled the system and ran it for a bit, it went a little milky again, but not much. We drained it while warm and blew it out for a second time, then refilled it again. That oil stayed clean.

Check your owners manual about getting the air out of the system,there may be something specific to your tractor about that.
Any tractor I've dealt with you just properly install the new filters, top off the sump with fluid, start the engine. If the loader is on the tractor, cycle the loader up and down, curl the bucket back and forth, turn the steering wheel lock to lock. The air will work it's self out of the system.
After all that shut the engine down and recheck the fluid level, if the hoses, loader cylinders were drianed you'll need to replace the fliud it used to refill those.

OK now, I've never caught you being too wrong on anything other than how to cook steak, but.
You spoke of submerging a machine, now they always told me that it's better to drain the pond before mowing the duckweed. ....

No Frank, it wasn't the duck weed.
I knew I should have done more reading on the subject, but well, Jeff was just plain antsy on getting started on our 'fish farming' project so, silly me, I just let have a go at it. Live and learn........ :)
Seriously though, no we were doing a big job down in the islands on a new ocean-front resort being built. The owner had a bunch of VIP's coming in for a tour as it neared completion and one of the 'ugly bits' was a bunch of debris on the beach a storm had washed in.
Long story short, a rogue wave came in while the machine was already working in a few inches of water. The wave was big enough to wash over the ROPS with a few feet to spare, luckily (or not) the operator was belted in and drove right out of the surf just in time to stall it on the beach.
The customer paid the bill without even blinking an eye at the cost, no petroleum products got spilled in the ocean, and the VIP's were happy.
