I have a 2002 TC25D that will not start. I have power to the glow plugs, fuel to the injectors, but will not fire.
This tractor will not even fire with a little either.
My worst fear is that I have lost compression.
A few years back the rubber hose on the hytran cooler burst below the air intake and engine ran away on me. Had head removed and it was fine but did have to have a couple valves cleaned up. Tractor really has not been the same since.
Any advice would be great appreciated.

Any smoke from the exhaust? No? Lack of fuel--even if injectors can leak at the fittings. Check and clean the fuel filter. Sometimes bacteria grows in the sediment bowl and clogs the media with snot-like growth. Carb cleaner works well to get it off there.

Also be sure the fuel filler cap's vent is not restricted from wasps/muddaubers or grass/dust. ....

Thanks earthwrks,
When it was running there was alot of white smoke and even a little after it had warmed up. I replaced the fuel filter and did check the cap for ventilation, had that problem before. One thing I did was put my hand over the exhaust while cranking engine and as it turned over it would suck my hand to the exhaust as if a valve was not closing properly. Am I correct on my thinking there or is that normal. I did a compression check and had 90 lbs of compression on the two outer cylinders and 120 lbs on the middle cylinder. I'm not sure what the compression should be but I would think it should be more than that.

dkchap ....

My TC33D manual says----are you sitting down?-------427 PSI +- 50. Yours wouldn't quite even qualify as an air compressor : ( ....

I'm pulling the head now and will let you know what I find out. I wasnt sure what the compression should have been but knowing deisels fire from compression I new it was not good. If you dont know already keep a watchful eye on the rubber hytran hose going to the cooler below the air intake. From what I have been told the acid fumes from the battery make them fail prematuraly and from this has taken alot of life out of my tractor. A maintenance free battery is what I was told from a dealer is what should be used and not what was used from the factory which was a battery with caps. ....

On mine I doubt very much if battery acid fumes have anything to do with rubber tubes cracking for two reasons: the battery is about 12" below the tubes, and 2, the air flow pulls air through radiator ands never has a chance to get to the tubes. What does crack them is they are hot-formed from straight hose which is not good for them. Then add and the vibration from shaking. Mine have been replaced years ago ans still leak. The clamps just don't stay tight since the rubber keeps oozing through the holes in the tubes. ....
