The tractor was just idling when all of a sudden it started running wide open. I shut the key off and it continued to run. I put the tractor in high range and stalled it. I started it up again and it ran normal for 10 seconds and then it started racing again. Would not turn off with the key had to stall it again. Went back later and tried to start it and it wont start. Loosened the nuts at the injectors on the lines and no fuel comes out when cranking it over. Fuel pump is working. I don't know what to look for can someone help me. The tractor is a cub cadet 7274

It's always good to have an emergency shutdown procedure in mind, because the key has no effect. If the throttle linkage is stuck (I think unlikely) try pulling up the foot throttle with your toe. If there's a decompression control, that will stop it though not good for the engine. Maybe you can reach the fuel shotoff safely. Otherwise, all you can do is stall as you did.

You could get a service manual and troubleshoot the fuel system, but intermittent problems can be puzzling. ....

Sounds like a plugged fuel filter to me. My New Holland does this when the filter gets plugged or I stupidly run it out of fuel. I think what is happening is it is leaning-out the mixture resulting in a sudden but short burst in RPM. ....
