I have a Farm Pro wood chipper that I bought from TSC. Looks like a Jimna or any of the other imports (think they all come from the same manufacturer). Recently I noticed the flywheel shaft is out of alignment with the drive shaft. Looks like the flywheel shaft has moved causing the flywheel to rub on the housing (direction of movement is along the flywheel axis). Does anyone know how to adjust this flywheel shaft? Thanks in advance.

Hey, KevinMcD...I can't help you with the alignment question directly except to say that I think that the Farm Pro chipper is the same as the Jinma WC-6 or 8. You can find a lot of advice from other owners if you just search for that subject.
I just looked at one of those chippers tonight at TSC and the price was so low that I am now considering it, What do you think of the performance other than the alignment issue? Have you tried it out on any serious wood yet? ....

I like the setup and when it works it works great, but their quality control is poor. I bought one from TSC and from the beginning I had problems. Returned it and decided to give it one more try. Bought another and this one seemed ok. If you buy one knowing the QC won't be great, then its a good deal. I've had the discharge chute clog on me twice so far and this is my current problem. The feed roller works great but the disengagement system is crap. Chips wood real well. I've chipped alot of pine and small oak branches without issue. Only time the machine choked was on a pc of Ironwood (Hophornbeam). Expect to do some maintenence on it if you buy it. Wish USA company would offer this setup with a little better QC.

Kevin, thanks for the reply.... I have had the same thought! Why don't we pull one of their own tricks on them!! We can do a tear down of their existing machine, (Chinese reverse engineering), measure, capture in cad data,and address all the hundreds of concerns that have been brought up in these forums. Should'nt be difficult to manufacture as it is a very simple machine. As you said, most concerns boil down to a few areas where they skimped on component quality, or didn't maintain decent tolerances during manufacture & assembly. I've been doing Automotive Lean Manufacturing for 20+ years and have access to some great fabricator shops with underutilized CNC machines that could really use a good contract just about now.... I can set up really tight processes with iron clad QA controls... and I know about 5,000 team members who would love some weekend work. They all have decades of experience in QC, procurement, stamping, die maintenance, weld shop, paint, final assembly. Heck,,,some of them have small fab shops at their homes they built when we still had an economy for middle class Americans. :(
If you can round up some investors for oh...say...a couple of million in $USD I can handle the rest.
We can put Jinma right out of this market by matching their price mark,but with bullet-proof quality.
Hey, creating American jobs, beating the Commies at their own game...and you and I get wealthy to pay ever higher taxes!!! Sounds like a win win American success story!!
