I have drained and replaced the hydraulic fluid on my John Deere 2010. Now, I have no hydraulics on the 3-point or on the loader, and no power steering.

OK, 2010 farm tractor or a 2010 compact?
In either case it sounds like you have an air lock somewhere, does your owners manual speak of a bleed plug or something of that order? ....

I have a 1961 John Deere 2010 farm tractor. I just bought it from a relative's estate. I have read through the owner's manual and don't see anything about a bleed plug. This is a whole new experience for me, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Gotta love the challenges! ....

Buzz;
Been a while since I was around a 2010, but here are a couple thoughts. Does the filter element fit inside the transmission housing with a cast iron cap held in with a center bolt? Did you get the "O" ring seated correctly on the cap and a new gasmet under the bolt head?
Did you use Deere fluid and a Deere filter? Is it to the full mark? ....

Hi Buzz, Iassume the hydraulics were working before the oil change? The filter on a 2010 is on the right side of the transmission and is held in place with 2 or 3 3/8" bolts. (9/16" wrench). The filter is actually a metal washable screen. Sometimes the rubber gasket on the end goes bad and then the filter needs to be replaced. Some 2010's had a lever on the left side of clutch housing that could disengage the pump. Is it engaged? ....

Thanks for the help! I pulled the filter and cleaned it, the rubber gasket was still in good shape. I have checked everything that I can think of including the engaging levers on the left and right. But no luck! ....

Thanks for the assist Hardwood! You are correct about the 3 bolt plate over the filter with a spring in between. the gasket was still good and I used JD 303 trans/hyd oil like the manual calls for. But for some reason I am not getting any pressure thru the lines. Every thing was working until I drained the fluids. I have no loader, 3-point or power steering at all. I thought there might be someway of bleeding the system but you cant bleed without pressure! ....

Buzz;
You got me stumped, maybe someone else can think of something.
Being it worked before the fluid changs is just shouts of being something simple. ....

The only other thing I have seen is if the pump is really worn, it has a hard time picking up the oil after it has been drained. Chances are if that is the problem, you might need a pump anyway, but you might try overfilling the reservoir by a couple of gallons to see if that helps. After it picks up the oil, you could probably drain it down to the proper level. ....

Hi, I have the same exact tractor and would love to find a copy of the manual for it. Would you sell me a copy of your manual? ....
