Does anyone have any experience with (or heard anything about) the Cosmo spreaders? SSB tractors will sell a 100 lb. cap. 3 pt. spreader for $380 (link below). That's one of the cheaper prices I've seen. If it would work effectively for 10 years without problems (private residential use), then I would buy one.

I don't know exactly what kind of spreader you are looking at, but if it is a 3pt hitch PTO driven type, we sell a 550 lb capacity for $349.00 plus freight. Cosmo is an Italian made spreader, most spreaders are made in Itay and are decent quality. They will last ten years IF you wash and clean then after EACH use very throughly. Fertilizer is more corrosive than salt water. Let us know if we can help

I purchased a COSMO 3-point broadcasting spreader earlier this year for $299. It seems to do a pretty good job. I agree with David, if you clean it after every use, it should last for quite a while. ....

On the front it has a label which says: COSMO 180. I think it has a 500 pound capacity. Also it has a rotating breaker bar with wheel on the inside of the cone and a hand flow rate adjustment you can reach from the tractor seat. Hope this helps. ....

I purchased it from V&V Equipment in Williamston, SC. They seem to have the best selection and prices in this area. They also carried another heavier duty version which contained a cast iron gear box and had a 750 pound capacity. It was about $100 more. ....
