I have just acquired a Yanmar YM186. This machine did not come with any manuals. Can someone possibly tell me what type of engine oil is recommended for this tractor?

I have been looking for manuals, but they are pricey..

Thanks

Any 15W40 will do, my personal preference is Shell Rotalla-T. Good luck with your new purchase !!

Oil certified for diesel engines will be OK for 100 hrs. Ordinary car oil will work but not last as long.

Yes, the manual is costly for use in routine servicing. But one repair that it steps you through will save you money. ....

Google this:

murray publishing + yanmar

Then go to "buy now" for the list. Yours is on it. I think they're only $40 but are made-up rather than factory originals. Should show the hydraulic drain points (there may be three) and how to remove and clean the internal filter. ....

I've not seen a Murray manual but I'm sure the factory service one (which I assumed would be twice the price -- sorry) would be better. And if you have an operators manual for the equivalent tractor, that would be an even better deal for routine maintenance. ....
