i have a new holland tc40da and it idles and runs fine but when i put it in gear it dies ?

When it's not in gear will it run at high revs? ....

if you turn the throttle up it does. but if you put it in gear it dies. i think its in the seat switch somewhere ....

Does it cut out suddenly as from an electrical cutoff, or more gradually as from fuel starvation?
Does "putting in gear" mean depressing the clutch pedal, shifting into any gear, or then letting the clutch back up? ....
