I'm sure this question has come up before, but I can't seem to find any threads on it...

I have a Wade box scraper and I need replacement scarifiers. It uses 3/4" X 2-1/2" X 16" BACK NOTCH type scarifiers. All I can find are the center hole type. Anybody know where to get the back notch type?

Interesting, I've never seen a back notch. The ones at AgriSupply are either center hole or front notch.

Yup... that's what I've found too. But sure enough, the Wade box uses back notch scarifiers. Found a manufacturer, just can't find a supplier. Click the link.

Jazak5, ASC has the center hole type.

Take the replacement to a weld shop and have new back notches cut in them. It no big deal.

Heck bring them to me I cut for no charge.

If the front notch irrates you weld full and grind off excess.

I have a couple of teeth (on my scraper) notched on both sides with no problems. ....

Just a quick update. The following suppliers offer the shanks I'm looking for:
General Implemement for $47.99 each, plus feight.
http://www.generalimp.com/nlines/products.php
Darrell Harp Enterprises for 31.37 each, plus freight.
http://www.darrellharpenterprises.com/
Modern Ag Products for 23.92 each, plus freight.

Maybe this will help someone else out who's looking for scarifier shanks. ....

Damn, that's getting pretty close to highway robbery. Those holed and notched scarifiers I mentioned above only range between $10 and $16.50 each and that includes tips

I think I can explain it:

General Implemement buys them from...
Darrell Harp Enterprises who buys them from...
Modern Ag Products buys who them from...
China...

I worked for a manufacturer of convertible top systems.
We bought a cast stainless steel top latch (one of two required) for $14 and sold it to one department of GM for $28. By the time it was sold at the dealership to the Customer it sold for over $400. Uh-oh! more fodder for the Big-3 haters! ....

Yup. That's why I just bought another Mercedes. If I'm going to be overcharged, I want to be overcharged for the best !!

I don't think it's coincidental that they went full throttle reverse from the Chrysler partnership. They obviously saw the handwriting on the wall long before J.Q. Public was let in on it.

Jeff don't think the big 3 haters need fodder. With the federal government as their directors it will not be long most vechiles sold to the people will not be those but of course by law only those will be bought by any government. Then they may reach out to those who have or want to bid on government contracts and so forth. ....

They worked hard to earn my disdain but now I'm feeling sorry for them and for us all.

Soon there will be laws forcing us to drive an ObamaBox.

Um... back to the topic of scarifiers...

First, those prices (while no doubt inflated greatly) do incude tips on the shanks.

Second, my local dealer was able to get them from the guys at Modern Ag, and now my price is down to 20.00 each.

Now ya'all can go back to your political discussion. :)

Red, I'm fairly sure those tips you talk about are actually mini-backhoe or mini-excavator bucket teeth. My King Kutter box scraper has them on it and they are peened on. Locally, they're less than $5 each and on eBay even less. ....

Appreciate the info. The price I got was for the shank with the tip included. (Can't tell you if they're welded or peened on. I'll find out when I get 'em.) ....
