Hello, all -

Hoping I can get some reassuring info and help here... I'm a new tractor owner, just bought my first, a Hinomoto 2304. When I went to check it out, everything seemed great, ran great, plenty of power, etc...

When it got delivered yesterday, it seems the guy I bought it from had an accident loading it, and ran it off the front of the trailer he was hauling it on. No damage to the tractor other than now the left rear brake is locked up, and the linkage seems to be bent. Have tried to straighten out the linkage, but it's still locked up.

Can anyone help me with a few questions here?

Where can I get parts if I need them to fix the tractor?

Does anyone have an owner's manual or operators manual or repair manual they would be willing to sell or sell me a copy of?

Do Massey Ferguson 1030 parts interchange with the 2304?

I need a new seat assembly, and a muffler pipe assembly...where can I get them?

I will be using the tractor to auger out fencepost holes, box-blade the driveway, and am thinking about adding a FEL to haul light loads like topsoil and mulch...nothing very heavy...I would also like to get a plow and tiller attachment to put in 5 acres of corn for feed...will the tractor handle this workload?

If someone can help me with suggestions and help in fixing the brake situation, I'd really appreciate it...

I didn't realize that it would seem to be so difficult to get parts for and service help for this tractor...wondering if I should maybe trade it for something else, or if I just need some info to be reassured I can get the parts and manuals I need and just need to relax...

Also, am I just missing it, or will I have to buy a separate hydraulic pump in order to put on a FEL? Where would the hydraulic pump be?

And what is the purpose of the wires located under a rubber boot covering on the left-hand side of the gear lever??

You didn't ask but perhaps you should see a lawyer about what was delivered not being in the condition in which you bought it -- and then a tractor dealer to discuss what would suit your needs.

A FEL is really handy. Within broad categories, all rear attachments pop on and off all tractors easily, but choosing and installing a FEL is another matter entirely, so it's better to get a tractor/loader combination.

To sort of answer some of your questions, I don't know the Hinomoto but it's rare that a tractor's hydraulic pump doesn't have enough extra to power the loader. As for manuals, if, as I suspect, this is a "grey market," how well do you read Japanese? As for parts, someone likely has them. If not, keep yours, part it out, and get rich.

More basic questions to discuss with a dealer are drive type; tire-tread type; mower type; and maintenance, parts and service. A tractor can easily work hard for a half-century, but not without those last three from time to time.
