John; Is there a knob between your knees just under the front edge of the seat that adjusts the rate of drop? Check to see if it is turned all the way to slow, in cold weather the weight of the arms alone just won't push the fluid out of the internal cylinder. If that valve is alrady set to fast then put some weigth on the arms, perhaps they just need a little boost. good luck. Frank. ....

Thanks Frank.

I have tried that. The valve is all the way open; I even opened and closed a few times. The arms appear siezed. I have to really force them to get them to move.

Ok, that narrows it down a bit. If all your other hydraulics are working properly, the fluid level is correct, then maybe if you haven't used the three point in quite a while there is some rust in the joints of the three point lift arms, etc. Give them a shot of spray lube and see if that helps. Frank. ....

John; Guess I forgot to ask. What position are the three point arms in now? All the way up, down, mid range? ....

John, Ok, that is a good sign meaning that they aren't part way up and the hydraulics arent lifting them. I really think you just have a problem of rusted joints, no weitht on the arms and cold oil all teamed up together keeping them from lowering. Frank. ....

The 3 point hitch can only drop by gravity and in most cases needs significant weight to operate.

Assuming there is no weight on the hitch now...... change the valve under the seat to a half open position and then stand on the hitch arms to lower them.

Then try the control to see if you can raise it again. ....

I had one that did that and there was a roll pin pin that has broken. If you look under the seat area there is a valve that works the three point hitch and u should be able to see what i am talking about. I am not verygood at explaining it but if u look and work the lever you should see if it is working or not. I would almost say for sure that is the problem. Mine was a 4310 but they work the same. ....

Checked that also. Brought to my dealer and they think the rolled pin inside the housing, that attaches to the valve release is broken. They said that it would be important to get this fixed as the broken pin could get sucked into the pump causing greater damage.
I'll let you know what they find. ....

Hello i have the same problem. When I check the my dealer they said the same thing. I pulled the upper case and the everything was fine inside, so the told me it had to be a bad flow control valve. The Valve list for $825. and I have not bought it yet. I want to be sure that is it before I spend the the $825. Please let me know how you make out. Thanks, rocco ....
