Blowers are heavy, and their weight is pretty far aft, so a small tractor is better off if it has a front loader. And 4WD and tire chains wouldn't hurt.

The next issue is whether the rear hitch will lift the blower. Then you want to ensure you can reach the outflow-direction control from the seat.

The last issue is the blower width. As long as it's a smidge wider than the track, the exact dimension doesn't matter because the wider it is, the slower you go.

A competent dealer will check the tractor and provide a suitable blower likely in the 6' range. ....

Garth, I saw your post on Lawncafe.com last night in fact, which I answered.

I have a brand new, never used 42" MTD unit that I bought Feb 8 of this year from Lowes. The model is 190-823 which according to MTD is now part number 190-032. It fits certain models of Husky, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Man, Yard Machines, Bolens, and White Outdoor which according to MTD they either build or license the name for.

If you call the MTD factory in Ohio at 1-866-239-3120 and tell them the model of the tractor and give them my model number and serial number which is 1i104610046 they can tell you if it will fit. I need $500 for it--they sell for as much as $2700 and as low as $1700.

You can reach me at (734) 552-3317 or at earthwerks-jeff@hotmail.com ....
