My 2005 silverado has dents in the sides from people leaning against it. The hood is dented where I pushed down to latch it. These really show on the dark blue. I had to replace the steering rack at 60,000 miles. The drivers seat bottom had to be replaced at 80,000 miles. I have only adveraged 14 MPG since it was new with the 4.8 engine. Needless to say I am very dissapointed,I hope to go back to Ford next time.

My Toyota Tacoma is the same way. The sheet metal is very light and the tailgates are so flimsy that they have been known to bend when a guy sits or stands in the center of them. Unfortunately *all* vehicles are following this trend. The lighter the vehicle is the better the mileage and with the new CAFE standards in the wings it will only get worse. But that doesn't explain the below average mileage you're seeing now. ....
