I just got a Hinomoto e322 tractor and would like anyone to give me a quick tour of all those levers and what they do? Such as the correct settings when using a bush hog from a drive gear and PTO at a average speed.
Or if you have an English owners manual for sale.

Daboodog,

The Hinomoto E322 is a "gray market" tractor. I've found no operator's manual, but a parts manual is available in Japanese.

There is no information available which might indicate whether or not any pictures are included in the Japanese parts manual.

Homestead Tractor Parts has a listing for an operator's manual, printed in Japanese. Best-used-tractors also shows a listing for a Parts Manual, but no operator manual.

Your E322's engine is identical to the engine in the E324. Your engine model number is "3S150".

I assume that you've already identified most of the major controls on your tractor, such as the clutch, transmission shift pattern, Fuel gauge, tachometer, ignition (and shutdown) switch/knob, PTO engagement lever, loader controls, Throttle, and brakes.

You may also have a creeper (low range) gear lever and a 4-wheel drive engagement lever. I'm not sure if your tractor has a foot throttle, but there may be one, in addition to the hand throttle.

If you have already identified all of these controls and gauges, I might be able to help you with the proper settings to be used with your implements.

Joel ....

I made an error.

Correction.......

There is NO OPERATOR'S MANUAL available for the E322 in any language. PARTS Manuals are available in Japanese only.

Yes I have IDed the controls , it does have the foot throttle.. Any help in the correct ""FORMULA"" to run the tractor with a Grass cutter. I can get the PTO to turn in several speeds but the tractor only creeps. Also what the DROPING and Raising of the implement. There is a large lever to the right side outer that raises and lowers but then there is a smaler lever on the inside that I have no clue as well as a HEEL pedal on the Right foot deck- again no clue and a lever on the Left aft of the lever for the Medium, Low and High gear in the center left of the gear shift. Thanks for the Help.. ....

Daboodog,

I have no experience with the Hinomoto tractors, but I have some experience with the Chinese made Rhino.

From your description, it seems to me as though your tractor has several different PTO speed settings. With most U.S. implements, you'll want to run at either 540rpm (common on most implements) or 1000rpm. (common on some hydraulic pumps)

I'm just guessing here, but it is most likely set up to run the fastest revolutions at the rearmost setting. You might be able to tell by just watching and listening to the tractor as the PTO is running. With most U.S. mowers, tillers, etc...... you'll want to use the slowest PTO RPM setting. (540rpm)

If you have a strobe light, you can set the strobe to 540 beats per minute and see if the shaft appears to come to a stop.

one of pedals located by the heels of your feet is to lock the rear differential. I'm not sure which pedal this is, but one of them serves this function. Essentially, this gives your tractor Posi-lock. It will be very difficult to make a turn with this lever engaged. It is only to be used when going in a straight line, such as when pulling a plow down the length of the field. If you attempt to make a turn with the posi-lock engaged, you'll immediately understand what I'm getting at here.

The other heel pedal is probably your creeper gear lever. If your tractor is moving very slowly right now, it is probably due to the fact that the creeper gear is engaged.

You won't hurt anything by experimenting with these levers and controls, as the Hinomoto tractor is very simple in design, and nearly indestructible under normal use.

Once you determine which PTO setting gives you 540rpm, you will want to make sure that you always start your implement in motion while the tractor is set at the lowest engine rpm setting...engine idle. Once the implement is in motion (mower or tiller is turning) you can then throttle the tractor up.

You should always operate the mower or tiller at or near full engine RPM. There should be a mark on the tachometer that indicates the max. PTO setting. It should be clearly marked on the face of the gauge. Generally speaking, all PTO operated implements are designed to run at full engine throttle.

I caution you --- NEVER attempt to engage the PTO when the tractor is at full throttle. This is to be done only when the engine is at idle. Throttle up ONLY AFTER the implement begins turning.

Do a bit of experimenting at slow speeds, on level ground, and at low engine rpms. You won't hurt anything by experimenting with these controls.

Joel

Left heel pedal is a differentiel lock. Run the pto in the slowest speed with engine at around 85% of full throttle to be at rated speed. I can supply manuals for the closest US model. ....
