I took the high and low temperatures off the weather channel site the last three months and a few months in the winter. We are running at least 2 degrees warmer than the historical averages. We have had a number of days near and over 100 the last two months. I also check the data out of Comox RCAF and Ottawa last month and found the same trend of 2-4 degrees above average.
Has anyone else found the same thing? Has anyone found it cooler than average?

I only reviewed July 2006 vs. historical data, we are 1 degree warmer on both average high and low than the historical average (central WV).

It may be in my head but it sure seems we're having a cooler than normal August. A friend of mine in Alaska says some mountains there have ice on them where there is never ice this time of year. ....

Ken;
I ran the numbers for Portland and last month highs were 82.4 or 3.4 degrees above average, but lows were on average 58 degrees. The month to date 80.77 or nearly 2 degrees above average but lows were 55 or 3 degrees below average. At least you are close to average for the month.

It's typically 5-10 degrees cooler here than in Portland. Where are you getting those numbers? I poked around a bit on a few sites and didn't find historical stats. ....

Alaska is having a very cool summer. My better third is in Anchorage this weekend. 50 degrees and rain, low is 40.
There was a report on the radio the other day about the Pacific Ocean. Apparently it is in a rapid, here-to-fore unseen, temperature decline.
Something to do with a lack of cloud cover and the heat being radiated off into space. ....

Ken; Go to the weather channel site for your area and hit the month and then you can go back to last month on the top of the table.
My calculation say Anchorage is at average last month at least according to the weather channel data. 65 high and 52 low.
YellowKnife the high was normal at 69 degrees, but the lows were increased by 2 degrees. Whitehorse the high was greater by 3 degrees and the low was greater by 1.5.

It sure seems warmer than it used to be around here, mind you the heat is more on my mind now that I'm not on a boat cooling myself off too!! LOL.
I was in Vancouver in late July for a few days and they were complaining about the record heat they were having that week, I thought it was kind of nice weather. It was just like 'normal' summer weather for Southern Ontario.
On the other hand I flew to Northern Ontario yesterday with a friend to look at a plane he's thinking of buying, the airport at our destination said it was "sunny warm day" there, it was 58° when we stepped out of the plane a little before noon!!
Best of luck.
