Well I switch jobs again. I am now doing maintenance work in an iron foundry. Needles to say, worst job ever.
The reason I took this job and the HUGE pay cut that came with it is so I can be home with my daughter before and after school. She starts kindergarten this year and it is only four hours a day.
This has an up side and a down side. My shift is Fri, Sat, and Sun. 5 to 5:30. So the up side is I get to spend allot of quality time with my daughter(her mother has majority custody). The down side is I will be losing my quality time with my wife( just married June 1st).
There is no real point to this post other than to just vent my, frustrations?? I don't know I am rambling again.

I have always believed that Family is first. With a strong family ties many things can be over come. A friend of mine just passed away, he did not believe in GOD, but he was a good man and has one of the strongest familys I have ever seen. He did not pass away unhappy, his family made this happen. I could not guide him toward religion, but his soul was strong. Never regret time with Family members or decisions to spend time with them. Have you ever heard of anyone at the funeral service say that " this man worked all the time and never had one moment for his family" I hope I will be remembered and a Good Family Man. AMEN ....

What I am torn between is yes I get to spend more time with my daughter, but less time with my wife. I know I will still see her but I like to spend as much time together as possible. Guess it will just take getting used to and it is not like I will be at this job forever just till my daughter goes to school all day. ....

The zero to five is the most important time for kids. I had to work in KY while the family was in MA for six months when my daughter was that age. A bad real estate nazi story. I lost a lot as she really grew away during this time. ....

I'm not sure if I'm one to give advise on these kinds of things, but your children will always be your children and your spouse.. who knows. So put children first, if that creates problems in your new relationship then that just tells you all you need to know. ....

Our children are not small long at all. That time is so precious. Invest as much with your child(ren) as possible. Even in the best the, it is a short time.
I would suspect your wife would really appreciate what you are doing. She should realize you would (and may?)for more children.
Family always has sacrifices. They should also have blessings you only get there. When you get to Granddaddy status you realize this much better. It will not matter the grass was not cut, nor the car washed but it will matter who held their hand and looked at the stars. ....

I believe that knowing the right thing isn't hard; but doing the right thing can be.
Talking to friends (even internet friends) is a good way to cope.
We just had our first baby this year. I hope I'm never in a spot that I have to struggle with either taking care of him or taking care of my wife. The bond with a child is strong, but then, a good woman is hard to find, too. So I do my best for both, that is all I have.
Sometimes you have to realize that a perfect solution doesn't exist; you have to make do with the solution that is obtainable. Trust in yourself to make good decisions. (And don't forget to take care of yourself).
