Does anyone have a ballpark price on having a set of new rear tires installed at my place for a Kubota L2850. I do not have a trailer and can not take the tractor to a tire place.

Duke,

To me there are several pieces of missing info for anyone to give you even a ballpark price. But here is my ball park, between $300 to $600 each.

The type of tires and where you are located and the tire dealerships in your area and just what do you mean by installed. Will they be filled with water or such or just air?

Based upon my experience some tire dealer are set up for field work don't charge a lot more than you taking it to them (not when you value your time, hauling, and such).

I would get the tire size and call asking for price.

Thanks GB.

I live in Bowling Green, Kentucky and the tires will be filled with air. The size tires on the tractor now is 13.6-24 and I will probably stay with the same size as well as the AG type tires.

I checked a few places and the price for these 13.6-24 was around $350 ea and that was not installed. I was told this was not a popular size. They suggested that another size might be cheaper, at the same time they did not suggest a size. I looked on the internet and the orginal tires for this machine were 12.4-24. I do not understand the difference between the two, but I may have to check it out. I know I really do not want to go with a smaller tire than what is on the tractor now, but bigger tires may be cheaper if a more popular tire.

Any suggestions would be welcome, I do not understand these tractor tire sizes. The fronts were also chaned from the orginal 5.00-15 to 7-16 which is on the tractor today.

You didn't say if your CUT is a 4x, but you can't mix tire sizes that do not meet factory specs---just like on a 4x4 truck. On my bobcat I have 12-16.5 tires--however the actual sizes on both the width and height of the tires can vary as much as nearly 2" which will cause drivetrain bind-up and an unlevel condition.

I'd check with your 'bota dealer and ask them if they have any take-offs that somebody made a deal on when they bought a new CUT. ....

That size is often used on larger {80-130} hp four wheel drive tractors on the fronts of many brands of tractors. Do some more looking at farm equipment dealers or where they shop if they don't have in house tire repair. ....
