I've got a Leer canopy on my truck which was fine for the first year or two but then started leaking badly around all the windows. And the window frames are riveted to the fiberglass shell so they would be a real pain to replace. Been to the dealer several times and they just shrug.
Anyone have a canopy brand they really like which has been weathertight for a period of years?
And anyone ever see a canopy with a rear window wiper on it?

I have had a couple of ARE caps and have not had a problem with the windows, rather the seal to the box has leaked a little. I have not seen one with a wiper, although I was thinking it would be a nice option. I was considering switching caps last year in CA as my cap was too high to get into the house I was renting. ....

I can't find a canopy/cap/shell that comes with a rear wiper, but did find a company that markets a rear wiper accessory kit. ....

I've been real happy with my Covermaster Cap. No leaks and it's over 10 years old now. (Well, no windows either) ....

I'm about ready to take a caulking gun to this Leer canopy. There's algae growing in the bed of my truck. Seriously. ....

We have a great number of windshield repair/replace companies. If you do, you may find one of their installers is willing on his time to fix your leak for a low price. They should have better materials for the job than you might have. Unless there is a ton of rivets it would seem you could drill them out reasonable easy. Most are aluminum and drill fast.
It would seem a rear wiper would be a good idea. As to visibility without rear glass, when I had shell, I always used only outside mirrors. Guess too much stuff in shell. ....

Naw, there's a window in the back, just not on the sides.
Origional thought - Poor man's camper. After thought - Man that looks kind of cool. Final thought - I have gotten really good at backing a trailer using nothing but the mirrors! (HUGE blind spots!) ....

One feature my Jason topper has is side windows that swing up and open. I suppose if anything this would tend to make any leaking problem worse but I've never had a leak in six years of use. The side windows allow you to reach anything anywhere, even if you break hard and your stuff slides forward you can reach it through one of the side windows. I hated my old toppers because I had to crawl all the way into the front of the box because everything would end up there.

My troublesome Leer has flip-up windows on all sides which are really nice. Most of the leaking comes from the rear window though. ....
