I'm redoing sections of my lawn. I added screened topsoil, then leveled, seeded and fertlized it two weeks ago. The grass is coming up nicely despite the semi-drought conditions in Central Wisconsin.
However, I'm noticing that there are a few spots where either the seed didn't take or I missed areas when I seeded it. Can I just add seed to those spots or would it be better to go over the whole area (6000 sq ft) again with the seeder?
I was considering buying an inexpensive "slit seeder" thinking that the new seed would get into the soil better that way as I can't roll/rake it in now. Or would the slit seeder damage the new grass already growing?
Any advice?

Sometimes the seeds do start differently, maybe planted a little deeper or closer to the surface. you might look to see if it is just a little later coming. Otherwise try lightly raking and sowing that area again. ....
