I need to put in a new lawn (some lawn, some pasture), about 2 acres. The soil has been bulldozed smooth and is relatively free of rocks. I will go over it with my York rake.

My plan is to rent a Woods Turf Renovator STR60-2 to roll and seed the lawn. The machine weighs 860 pounds. My 7510 will pull it and the three point hitch, rated for over 1000 pounds is powerful enough. What's my problem, then?

The rental place will put it in my truck (GMC Sonoma), but how do I get it out -- and back in again to return it? My LA302 loader is rated for 550 pounds at full height (bucket center) and 770 pounds at full height at Pivot Pine, according to the manual. The breakout force is 1120 pounds. Should I try and lift the machine out or will this potentialy do harm to my loader? Does anyone have any ideas? I hope to get it next week.

Thanks in advance.

Can you find a friend with a trailer that might be able to haul your tractor as well as the tool? ....

The rental company will pick it up and deliver it, for $100 each way. Also, if I get it myself I can rent it on a Saturday and return it on Monday and only pay 1 days rent. If they do it, I can only have it for a business day.

I hadn't thought of loading my tractor onto a trailer -- I'll have to see about that -- great idea, thanks! ....

Have you got access to or can you borrow or rent an engine "cherry picker". You could lift it up with a chain and drive the truck out from underneath. You might be able to do that with your FEL but I think that would be taking a bit of a chance. ....
