What size cutter works best on a TC24?
I'm looking at cleaning out the under brush in 5 acres of woods.

Thanks

Well the NH guys are not jumping on this so I will give it a shot.

I think your TC24 is pretty darn close to my Deere 4115 in most respects. My tractor weighs 1775 pounds and has 24 gross and 20 pto horsepower.

Deere recommends either a 4 foot or a 5 foot brush cutter for my tractor. I am sure that some sort of front ballast would also be needed in the form of an FEL or suitcase weights. ....

My TC29 powers out in waist tall field grass with a 5' cutter; anything less than that is does pretty well. In your case I'd worry about the weight of the cutter making the front end on your tractor light, unless you have a FEL or front weights. If don't have heavy cutting and the field is not steep, you might be able to use a 5' cutter. 4' would be safer and easier on the tractor.

Borrow a 5' if you can to try it out.

Good luck,
Bill ....

I have a TC24 with a 4' cutter. It seems to lug a little bit in real heavy grass and weeds but will do the job. I would not recommend the 5' cutter unless you are only cutting fairly light grass. ....
