USA Targeted Italian reporter? Give me a friggin break! This time I would just LOVE to hear the politicians and especially the PRESIDENT step to the plate and denounce that statement! Wouldnt it be great if the president came on tv and stated something like this," As for the incident that happened last week and for the claims that are made against our troops. Hmmm HOG WASH! This lady that came on fire is the same lady that our troops would of risked their lives to save. The blame lies with the driver of her vehical. This is a war zone, the same place where cars are killing our young men and women almost daily with bombs. What did they think may happen? Our troops done nothing wrong or out of line for the situation they were facing. Its ludacris that they are accusing our troops for this and the Italian govt. should appologize to all american troops for the statement that SHE has made. "
I would love it if a statement was pressed like that. Why do we continually have to take shit from other countries when things dont go right? I feel we should stand ground on this one and tell them too bad, it goes with the trade being a press person in a war torn country. Infact as far as I am concerned our govt. should make a statement saying that if you are reporting a story or just sight seeing in this country and get took hostage that you are on your own baby! I dont think our troops should put themselves in harms way to save reporters. This is a risk you take when you try and make fame and fortune by covering this story. Kinda like if The Crock Hunter gets ate by a crock. Too bad! It goes with the risky job he CHOOSES to do!!!!
This story and others like it just pisses me off. Rediculous!!! Too bad, if you get captured over their and they take your head off you should of known that could happen! MY GOD What are these people thinking? They are going into a country that has behaeded many a folk recently? Now she is crying the blues saying the USA targeted her??? Screw her! (oops, hope that was not too graphic). Just thats the way I feel right now. Its time we stop letting our guys be slapped from behind and stand up for them against the worlds less inteligent folk.

Ditto, My son just got back from there this week after a 13 month tour, and you are right. Its a war zone. Rumor has it they paid ransom and never told US forces and were driving high speed thru road block. Duh!!! what do you think the guards will do when they get suicide bombers daily? Its standard operating procedure to fire if the vehicle won't stop. ....
