Does anyone out there know where I can locate attachment plates to connect a model 48 JD backhoe to a JD 4600 tractor? The backhoe I have was previously attached to a JD 5105 and has the subframe mounting mechanism. The local JD dealers have not been able to locate the required mounting plates. In the absense of factory plates, can someone provide the dimensions for the required hardware so I can have the pieces fabricated locally? Thx in advance.

I looked and found 2 kits 1 for B4 SN# and 1 after SN#.

JD Parts showed them as invalid on my system but that does not mean anything their systems are different.

The Kit#'s are: BM20583 and LVB25568 Side plate mounting kits.

If you have no luck, I'd jump up and down on their counter, I'll look you up the individual parts in the JD Parts area. They should be able to do better than I can. ....

I purchased side plates and backhoe adapter just last year for a 48 backhoe to a JD 4600 about $1100.00 for both. I previously had the 48 backhoe on a 4300. The side plate kit number is LVB25568 and the backhoe adapter kit number is LVB25579. These numbers may have been superseded. Here is the JD parts break down web link for parts needed. http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.HomePageServlet_Alt
In model, type 4600 then Search. Select 48 backhoe, Sectional Index, 32 side plate kit.
The JD dealer had to call for tech help for parts ordering but was able to get the parts. I hope they have not discounted these parts. To bad you where not installing your 48 backhoe on a 4300 because I have all the parts.
The 48 is a great backhoe and is easy to get on and off the 4600. You may need to get some different hydraulic hoses in addition to accommodate the 4600.
If you are still unsuccessful in getting these parts form your locate JD dealer, let me know and I will call my dealer and see if they can still get these parts and what you have to do to get them.
Good Luck Parts Hunting

Paul

I bought a used 48 backhoe with the weldment and brackets for a large frame compact (I was told that the hoe was off of a 4700) and bought the proper weldment and brackets from Deere to mount it on my 4300. I still have the large frame hardware if you are interested.

I believe that I am interested, Jim. Do you happen to know the model number of the plates? Based on your email, I understand the hardware you have is what bolts to the tractor frame (i.e. axle/drive-train housing). I understand there is a "heavy duty" frame recommended for rental applications. Do you know if your hardware is the heavy-duty? Please feel free to contact me on my cell @ 706-830-6451. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you (family emergency).

Sincerely - John Stafford ....

Hello. I am also looking for the mounting brackets for a model 47 backhoe onto a JD 4300. Were you able to find the brackets you were looking for, and if so, did you install them yourself? I got a price from the dealer of $405 for the brackets and $300 for installation. It seems there are only 4 bolts to each bracket. How hard can it be to install these? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ....

Brian; I had mine dealer installed on my 4300 then the dealer transferred them to my 4310 when I traded tractors. If you are at all handy with wrenches and have the time there is no reason you can't install them yourself. My hoe is a model 48, so I'm not certain the mounting brackets are the same, but I would assume they are close. There have been issues with broken mounting bolts by a few people with most all problems traced back to using the wrong bolts and at an improper torque setting. The NEW bolts that should come with the mounting package are longer than the bolts they replace and of a definite tensle strength. Be absolutely sure you use the proper bolts and at the factory torque specs. Good luck. Frank. ....

Any one out there that has put a power beyond on John Deere 4600 compact tractor? How hard or complicated is it? I do have some mechanical experience. Also want to install the LVB25568 kit on the tractor for a John Deere 48 back hoe I just bought. I had to do a lot of research in order to find the correct mounting hardware. It seems John Deere no longer offers this kit. I was very interested in this discussion.:-) ....

johnjlc

I just picked up a power beyond kit from the dealer for a JD4120. It doesn't look too complicated -- but we will see how it goes. Instructions are included and I've found YouTube video that demonstrates the installation.
Where did you find the mounting hardware for the JD48? Were there any drawings, with dimensions, of the mounting plates included in your purchase? I have not been able to find the hardware and I'm thinking of taking some other plates that I have to a machine shop to get them modified to fit my tractor and JD48 backhoe. ....

randyyd,
Yes I did install a power beyond kit on my 4600 tractor. I also found and installed the mounting plates. It really wasn't that bad once I got all the right parts. I found the mounting plates on ebay where this tractor parts guy had it listed for $1800.00. I could have gotten some from a John Deere dealer that had some old stock for I think around $1200.00. So I offered the guy on ebay $1000.00 and he accepted my offer. I had to buy the right bolts from my John Deere dealer and those cost me around $100.00. The power beyond kit I bought from Greendealer for $400.00. So about $1400.00 later and I had my John Deere 48 backhoe mounted on my 4600 John Deere tractor and its ready to dig. I would keep checking the web for your parts, they seem to still be out there. Just do your research and make sure you are getting the right parts. Good Luck!

Paul,
Do you still have the brackets to install a 48 backhoe on a 4300 tractor? If so, I would love to get them from you.
Thanks,
Torrey ....

Torrey,
yes and no.
I sold the 48 backhoe to a friend to install on a 4700. So he has the plates and frame to install the 48 backhoe on a small frame 4300 or 4400 tractor. I called him last night and he is willing to sell them. His name is John and his phone # is 502-921-3576. John is an engineer and is very knowledgeable on John Deere and can answer any question you might have on the installation of the 48 on your small frame 4300. By the way the 48 Backhoe is a great backhoe.
I hope this is some help to you.
