Considering you have a DI engine you can run a 180� to 190� T stat. But what I found on my 2210 is that when the ambient is below 10� or so the rad fan moves so much air that it is supercooling the block so the engine temp wouldn�t go above 132�. So I made an aluminum plate with several 2� holes in it and put it in place of the radiator screen. Now the coolant temp runs between 170� and 180� and the heat output is much better.

I used a Cyberdyne 2X4702650 Gauge. and ZX470271B Sender from JC Whitney. Around $55.00 It's still working after almost 2 years.

The reason I installed the temp gauge was when I started using the tractor last winter I was disappointed with the cab heat and wanted to see what the coolant temp was running. The idi engine uses a 160� thermostat but I found the coolant only runs at 138� to 142� in the winter even under load. During the summer it runs at the 160� thermostat setting. This tells me that the radiator fan is supercooling the engine block. This year I cut a piece of aluminum the same size as the rad screen and punched some holes in it to block off the rad and get the coolant temp up. It now runs at 173� gets much better heat and still gets coolant flow through the cylinder head at 160�.
The temp gauge and sensor is a cyberdyne from jc-whitney. it was around $50.00. You can�t read an analog gauge from the seat so I had to go with the digital..
The sensor is 1/8 X 27 NPT using an �R� drill bit.

I have a 50 amp nd alternator off a reefer unit. It bolts up to the existing brackets on the tractor but I�m waiting for the warranty to run out before I dig into the wire harness and change the external regulator to the internal one.

I would be glad to email you the pics of the gauge mounting. I don't have any of the sensor but I will shoot a couple this week. The gauge is a cyberdyne that I ordered from jc whitney for about $55.00.I wanted to mount it on the instrument panel but when I removed it I found it had some structural webbing under it that I didn�t want to drill through.

I would consider approx 50btu output per square foot with an 8' to 10'ceiling height. Unit heaters work well but don't get enough heat to the floor area. Down flow furnaces work well if you block them up and let the warm air wash the floor..

I purchased a quick hitch from tractor supply with the adjustable top hook for $180.00. Works well but the KK attachments that they sell are not quick hitch compatible, so you end up spending the weekend cutting and welding. amazingly my gorilla snot welds actually look better than the kk welds�

You are correct. The chart I used is set up so the tire is filled below the v/s at 12:00. not sure if thats am or pm though.

I was at my JD dealer last week. he claims to have a couple of customers with wallenstein backhoes on 2210's. he said they have been trouble free so far and that he believes that if JD were to design a backhoe for the 2210 it would mount something like the wallenstein. He also gave me the name and number of one of the guys and said call him and he will let you come take a look at it.

The A/C comp will draw between 3 to 6hp depending on mass flow and load conditions. You also have to figure on added alternator load from evap/cond fans and electric clutch.

We Dyno the Yanmar and Kubota engines for applications other than tractors. They both make advertised net HP at rated speeds. Design life is around 6000hrs but have been known to live up to 20,000hrs in our applications. The engine designs between the two are very similar. One engine has a slight power advantage at high load conditions and the other has a slight advantage at medium load conditions.

It is a good idea to let these IDI's warm up prior to leaning on them like you said. It was -25� several mornings here this past winter and the heat is about non-existent. It starts to work when the ambient gets around 20� and higher. I will be installing a higher temt t-stat next winter for sure. one Deere dealer at the farm show claims they are replacing these heaters with electric ones.(not sure if I like that idea)
As far as useing cetane booster I think it will help but when we dyno these small diesels in our lab we use pump fuel because we need to run them in a real world environment.

trying to find a location for the temp gauge was a stressful weekend. didn't want to blow a 2" hole in a new tractor. The dash panel has structural webbing under it leaving no place to drill so I decided to put it on the dummy panel to the left of the parking brake handle. so I drilled it and installed an analog gauge that I FOUND at work. but I couldn't read it because the needle was recessed and not visible from the seat. I ordered a digital gauge and it's clearly visible from the seat. I hosed out the cab a couple of times this winter and the gauge seems to stay dry so I'm hoping it will be ok. but for $36 I'll just order a new one if it craps out.. I will post some pics later this week.

I did mine about two weeks ago. First thing, clean the powder coat off the engine block were the flange bolts on.
Drain the radiator then remove the drain plug in the block adjacent to the block heater. Take a punch and knock the freeze plug into the water jacket grab it with a pair of pliers turn it sideways and pull it out. Thread the block heater into the flange in a vice then bolt the flange to engine block. I believe the thermostat is self bleeding so the system shouldn't get air bound when you re-fill it.

An easy way to figure out torque on a diesel engine is to take the hp X 5252 and devide it by the rated engine speed so a 22hp engine (X5252) devided by 3200rpm = 36.1lbft of torque.
