Anyone have an opinion on the new JD Series 1 compact - the 2305 replacement? Are the new options enough to make a switch from a 2210? The biggest attraction for me is the auto depth control on the 3 pt hitch on the 26 hp "R" version. I haven't see the cost yet.<br>

I'm looking at a 2520 upgrade. Seems like I might get more for the money.<br>

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm headed to Madison tomorrow and I pass right by a JD dealer with two 2520's on the lot. I'll just swing off the interstate and measure one up. That will answer my question.

Thanks for the tip. My landscape rake has adjustable guide wheels that perform the same way. They work great! I miss the control mostly when I use my scraper blade and box blade.

As for the missing 10% it is mostly an ego trip in wanting lift more with the loader and 3 pt. My dealer suggests making two trips with the loader instead of one - he's right of course. But the itch still itches!!

I guess I'll continue to poke around and maybe that surprise deal that's too good to pass up will emerge.

I bought a '04 Yukon. It has a wiring harness for a trailer controller and the harness has a plug that simply plugs in under the dash when needed. I took the old controller (2 years old) from my '97 Suburban at trade-in time.<br>

The controller wires (4) must be spliced to the harness wires (5). Everything matches except the harness has a BROWN wire for "Illumination". I suspect it is for the controller panel lights.<br>

It this wire (brown) necessary for my controller to work correctly? Or, should it be spliced to the 12V lead? Or something else?<br>

I bought a 52" Woods tiller for my JD2210 last year. It's a wonderful tool. My suggestions: Run your PTO at a high speed; Don't lift you tiller too far up when it's engaged as it puts stress on the PTO shaft; Check the bolts for tightness BEFORE you run it the first time, and then again after you finish; check the oil level on the chain box; Open the back sheild to allow rock to kick out; Keep your FEL on or use front end weights; drive SLOW; Keep your head on swivel.

You'll be amazed by the fine results you'll get.

I put the loader on my 2210 and have never been sorry. It's a real workhorse and does a thousand odd jobs. Yesterday I had a 15 gallon sprayer tank in it and I sprayed my trees from the drivers seat.

If you don't want the loader then downsize to a strong Garden Tractor. But, you'll be missing lots of fun! There's always another project on my 5 acres or for my neighbors.

Thanks for the tip. I've made arrangements to have it serviced at my dealer under Warranty. He had a hard time finding the fan blade part even though I gave him a printout from the on-line manual. It just wasn't coming up on his machine. I'll let folks know how the dealer decided to approach this repair. Maybe he's got a trick up his sleeve??

The 2210 has a connector at the rear of the seat. It can be used to run a set of back-up lights. It is controlled by the light switch on the dash.

My only problem was mating the connector they used. I cut theirs off and installed my own. Look at my pics and you might see a yellow wire cover - that's where the line is.

I recently wanyed power up front fro a sprayer. I could not find a source up under the hood by the lights. I would up drilling a swutch into the dash and running a line up to the battery as you plan to do. It isn't hard, but it is clumsy. An extra socket on the fuse bank would have been helpful.

I'm running the GTC 52 with my JD 2210. I'm very happy with its ability to till. I'm in heavy soil with more than a fair amount of loose granite material. It handles all that nicely.

I find it runs rather quietly, and hooks up easily. I'd buy it all over again.

Horse Farmer, I only have that problem in the spring after I detach my snow blower and reattach my loader. It happened last year on two hose and this year on one hose. I suspect that over the winter the unit "settles" a bit from standing idle. As a result i bit of pressure builds up in the arms and results in "back pressure" that does not allow the little pin on the male connector to recess for hook up.<br>

All I need to do is get two wrenches and back off the connector until a few drops seep from it, then the pin works. I tighten things up and off I go.<br>

I'm not sure if this is common or not. THe guys at my Deere dealer told me of the fix the first time I encountered it. They made it sound like it was not unsual on any hydraulics that stand around. During the season my loader goes on and off with no problem.<br>

As for fluid leaking on connecting the hoses - I find I get a few drops, not much more. A paper towel in one hand gets it all easily.<br>

I have a JD 2210. Last year I bought the Woods GTC 52 tiller and have been very pleased. I looked at a number of tillers including my top choices of Land Pride and Deere. Both were very good but more costly than the Woods Tiller. I paid $1320 plus tax for mine in Wausau, WI. However, I think I got in before steel prices went up and that was part of the difference between the Deere ($500 more) and Woods prices. I believe they are both made by Woods.<br>

My Woods tiller works well and is very quiet. Easy to hook up (I use an I-Match hitch) (see pics). I'd buy it all over again.<br>
<br>
Some folks here like King Kutter. Inexpensive, sometimes on sale at Fleet Farm, but people say the paint chips easily.<br>

My 1997's Suburban's "Check Engine Light" is on. The dealer says the Catylatic Converter needs attention and likey the Oxygen sensors. He says not to worry just yet but watch for a drop off in MPG. He turned off the light, but it was back on in three weeks.<br>

He also says it costs about $1300 to resolve the problem! I've got 155,000 on it and hate to spend that kind of money.<br>

Are there cheaper options to fix this? Does it hurt to run the Burb in this state? Is this a Dealer Only repair job?<br>

Still other sinks have a stainless steel rim that lies nearly flush on the counter top. THe sink then is held under the counter to this rim by bolts and small brackets. The brackets grip the rim and the bowl and the under counter area and pull everything down tight. Caulk under the rim for a water tight seal.

The IMatch has worked very well for me. It sure makes hooking up my tiller/bb/rake/trailer hitch simple. No fighting with the arms and pins. The arms on the 2210 are Cat 1 and so is the IMatch. I have not had any problems.

The "skull" pic is from a national news article several years ago. THe guy was roofing and rolled off grabbing a buddy and all the way down the nail gun was on automatic and going off. THe guy lived and only had a slight speech problem afterwards!

Jason I have a 51 inch Woods Tiller that I use with my 2210 and I-Match hitch. It works very well with the hitch. I've not had any concerns.

Sounds like you had a great day. I just finished cleaning up 9.5 inches from Wednesday's storm in Wisconsin. There's nothing better than having the right equipment for the job, unless it's having bigger equipment!!

If you haven't got rear flood lights on yours yet check the pictures and advice in older posts. I followed them and easily put two rear facing lights on my 2210. It really helps to see when blowing at night

Mike,

I've got just a single stage blower on my 2210 and it handles a great deal of snow! I see that you are in New York with a 900 ft driveway. With the snow you get and the distance the 2 stage is probably a better fit for you. But I agree, that driving in reverse for such a long driveway (back and forth)is going to send you to the chiropractor!

Thanks for the notes. The "toughest" workout my 2210 has had so far was in moving 75 yds of topsoil around the yard this summer. Other than that just snowblowing, tiller work, and dragging a trail with the BB.

I've been changing oil every 25 hours. That has been a summer - winter schedule for me. I know I can go longer but it just seemed like a good maintanence schedule for my use.

I guess I need to get comfortable with the dark oil. Glad to hear it's normal. Thanks!
