I was doing some fairly light dirt work today with my 2210. I didn't have any ballast on the rear 'cus it was pretty light work and I had my sub-soiler on.<br>

A half full bucket of dirt on a slight left side decline as I backed up with the bucket a waist level. The right rear tire rolled up on a rock and she started to go. I leaned out the right side and punched the forward pedal as I hit the bucket lever to drop it. She came back up promptly but this was a real eye opener!<br>

I HATE side hill slopes and always carry the bucket LOW!!..except for this time. Even when it's a slight slope..you may roll over a damned rock and...it's a problem. Also..ALWAYS have rear ballast on...period!<br>

Well, I keep a CZ75 or two by the bed and a variety of shotguns postioned around the house..all pumps with 00 buck. A rifle..IMHO..is to kill the stragglers at range, should they survive the close-in turmoil. Afterall..we don't need any survivors in that kind of situation. Keep the AR or AK by the door for the final pickings.

I wouldn't care what I may or maynot invision an FEL for..BUY IT! I use mine in more ways than I ever dreamed. The wife comes in with a van load of groceries, I load them in the bucket. Moving a 55gal drum..the bucket with forks...etc. The most useful implement of all that I have is the FEL...but I need them all. It's like an extension of your hands. I just can't imagine my 2210 without one.

Had a similar situation with my Mustang. Lights and all worked fine but the engine wouldn't turn over very well. Diesels have much higher compression. My problem was the almost new battery. One cell was bad. Had I had the 20:1 compression of a diesel, it wouldn't have budged.

Next would be the starter. I can't imagine the engine running fine and then shut down and then not turning over being a siezed mill. Highly improbable.

Iowafun..After I got my brand new 5L Mustang convertible back in '90 I drove it for 2 months when winter set in. We have a 200', 8% grade, driveway. I then parked it, bought a 4wd pickup and it hasn't seen the outside of a garage in winter since. Still have it and it's still like new. This coming winter the 'Stang will have the company of my new motorcycle.

And congrats on your new 790. I think the ideal wedding present for most folks would be a tractor...sooner or later you're gonna need one.

I've got almost 200hrs on my 2210 and still love the little guy. It has done everything I've needed so it's sized right for my personal situation.

A neighbor who has a Cat 416C is building a 10' high by 50' long retaining wall. He's putting re-inforcing fabric every 3rd level and backfilling after each course. Well, the 416 won't fit behind the wall so he borrowed the 2210 to do the backfilling. Sized right for the job. Of course I borrow his 416 when I need a backhoe. Life is good.

Dave..we use round pots made of coated steel mesh. We put the cheapest, smellyest cat food in perforated jars inside. Then we look for 400-500' of water depth in a glacier fed bay and drop them for one tide cycle (12hrs). Shrimp like the glacier silt and they run deep.

4 pots on one 700' line clipped on at 30' intervals. We use a gas powered pot puller. Wrap the line around the capstan and pull them in about 5 minutes. Empty, rebait and drop again. My record for one pull was around 220 shrimp.

I never have that problem with my 54" deck. I didn't go out and look before posting this but could the link adjusters be rotating and changing the adjustment while being run without the deck on??

I used to fly gold out of the Cambior mine on the Denali Highway 40 miles east of McKinley Park. They packed .50 cal. ammo cans with the stuff and it was HEAVY! I figure about 60lbs/can. The small jewelery quality stuff was separated from the coarse grade and fetched double the going rate.

I had a smoke system on my Pitts S1S and our Decathalon. I'd fill it with insect fogging agent and buzz the strip (we live on a fly-in sub-division)with smoke on. About 8 pass's and the deed was done..no skeeters for weeks.

Then there's the idiot who sprayed himself with bear repellent before venturing forth into bear country. He didn't get further than where he sprayed himself.

There's lies, damned lies and statistics. Depends on whose ox is being gored at the time of the analysis. So, what becomes suspect is who's doing it and their agenda. Oh..their agenda is often cleverly disguised by layers of B.S.

It would be nice if all of these accidental deaths from firearms could be prevented..but that's just not possible. And neither is it possible to prevent all of the other causes of accidental deaths.

This is the real world. We have to live with it. Going to the extremes that alot of moronic politicians do to "prevent" these tragedies is nothing more than "feel good" B.S. politics that does nothing more than cut into our freedoms. Freedom is not free. There are risks involved in living in a free society. If we can't deal with that then we need to go find someother more controlled place to live. BUT..that still won't be a safer place.

Fortunately 28g ammo is plentiful here but more expensive than 12 & 20g since it isn't made in as large a quantity as the more popular gauges. I buy 10 box cases of 28's for about $45/case but 12 & 20g go for $35/case. That's lowbase #8 skeet loads. Highbase hunting loads double for the 28 but only increase about 30% for 12 & 20. Shows the demand factor. But, still, the 28 is my favorite and I score as well with it as I do with my 12 & 20. The 410 is another story.

Off the subject of fueling, I've been landscaping, working on the boat and riding my motorcycle, 2000 miles in a month and a half.

The Rankin blade worked out great. The 2210 has made a reputation around here for solid performance. The runway project came out perfect. EVERYONE was impressed. 155 hours on her so far without any problems..except plugging the fuel filter.

That's the short version of recent events.

Ferrari..5 gallon cans are really a pain. Chief's setup looks great. I did my drum/pump arrangement for about $35. BUT..get in-line filters for sure. I didn't at first and started plugging up the 2210's filter with crud. It stopped everything and was easy to clean. I washed the fuel and added a filter. Life is good again.

Dave, I recall using some spray lube years ago but it wasn't a foam type and still dripped. I'll run to the dealer today and see what he has. The 90wt gear lube is what the book called for and what I had in stock but is a mess.

I got some bad fuel..had water & crude in it..and the way I discovered it was when running a full throttle. The engine started to run rough and smoke. It lost power as well. Pulling back on the throttle cleaned it up. <br>

It was like the available fuel flow wasn't enough for full power but enough for lower settings. This would indicate that the filter stops water and as the bowl gets more water the fuel flow reduces by the amount of uncontaminated filter. Is the filter on the 2210 a water stopper?

I just de-thatched 2 yards with my new 51" broom. I've never seen anything like it. Talk about cleaning things up. All I need to do now is sweep up the berms. The grass should come in better than ever.
