Hi Havey There are only 450 hours on this machine. This is an open bearing (noy sealed) and it constantly submerged in the RT front Final drive oil (full). It is pressed into the Rt front final drive housing and receives the nub end of the cone shaped pinion Gear that fits into the final drive ( keeps pinion from walking) when I took it apart there where no signs of wear on any of the balls from the bearing However both inside and outside races of the bearing where broken in three pieces. I wouldnt think there is that much pressure on the bearing. Im gonna order new bearing, seal and sleeve and give it a try. Just hoping something else didnt cause the failure. (i hate doing things twice)...

With out driving it myself its hard to pin point but I have a question. Does it do it on dry roads at all? If the ABS kicks in on DRY roads at low speeds (usually 5 mph and lower)its most likely a front sensor.This is done by watching the scanner for the one that drops out 3 or more mph than the other ones. Depending on build date some come with the whole hub. If its doing it only on snow covered roads and you feel its NOT NORMAL ABS operation (remember they are very sensitive) then I would check the rear rotors for rust and corrosion that could limit surface contact between pad and rotor cause front to do most of the work and skid. (rusty/corroded rotors very common on GM)

Have the same problem. When she see's me on here she calls me Johnny Joe Tractor. Normally I think nothing of it until she makes the 3rd or 4th pass and says hey Johnny Joe Tractor. This is when I get EVIL thoughts involving the back hoe and several bags of lime. Then she asks me what im smiling about. At this time I usually throw some money at her and this makes her go away for a few hours.

Broken, many things can trigger the check engine light on but since it happened in the car wash while washing the under side of the vehicle im sure it was water penetration.
Most likely the O2 sensor and or harness or the evap system.
If it dries out and the PCM does not see the same problem again within 50 ignition cycles the PCM will shut the light off. It will store the code as a history code if you want to see what the code was. If hasnt been on since your probably fine.

Myself, for 2000 more I would get the new one with a warranty. Also if your like me and take the loader on and off often the deere would be my choice. I dont think you will find a simpler or quicker on/off loader. If the cash or loader are not real issues for you then its a toss up. They are both great tractors. Just my 2 cents...

kubotachic, being I have a (GREEN) John Deere and even though I live in Pa. I like North Carolina. Does this mean I need to go to a HICK Detox Center or perhaps Hicks anonimous meetings. Is this a serious illness? Could you recomend any help centers. Is there a Betty HICK center?<br>
I think my coveralls and straw hat are just crys for help.<br>

Im adding 3 lights to my JD 4100 with a 20amp alt. Two facing forward off the cab and one facing rearward off the ROP. After looking around i found what looks to be a factory pigtail connector in the rear for additional rear lights. I tested it with a DVM and it has 12v and is controled off and on with the factory light switch. My question is can I use this supply for all three lights or just the rear one? The lights I bought are 55w but im not sure how many amps they pull. Without measuring amp draw im guessing around 3amps each.

Hey guys thanks for the info. So now I know I need lots of weight behind me.I hate to fill the tires because i know there are times I wont want the weight on (mowing).Rankin I like the weights you got set up on yours. Im getting a 6' grader blade tomorrow and if the frame work on it is heavy enough id like to fabricate a ballast box and weld it into the blades frame work. With the blade weighing around 250lb and if i can get another 350lb in weight ballast plus my sorry 235lb butt this should be enough weight so i dont have to check my underwear next time i got a full bucket of wet dirt.
