UPDATE!!! Hi guys! I finally was able to buy some wheels for my Cub. I went with 6" wide X 16" rims with a 4 1/2" backside offset from All States Ag parts for $172 delivered and 7x16-6 ply Harvest King R-1 lug tires from a guy on Ebay for $249 delivered. All in, $441 including mounting! I have about 20 hours on them and I absolutely love them! No problems shifting in or out of 4wd. And, this may sound crazy but, I FEEL like the tractor has more horsepower! Maybe I was not aware of how much power I was loosing thru wheel slippage. Now, when I push into a mulch or dirt pile, she just keeps getting it!!! I can go up and down my hills at significantly higher speed. When I load my FEL, my tires don't squat anymore and I don't feel like I am going to roll the tires off of the rims! The lugs on these new tires are almost 1" compared to the old Goodyear Suretrac lugs which were 5/8" when new and were down to 3/8" by 100 hours!
No downside to this swap. Thank You to all for your advice!
I will update with wear test of lug depth after I get more hours on them.

Hi Murf! Glad to hear you are planning for the future! LOTS of folks from up North have made the Blue Ridge their retirement home. My folks are currently preparing their home in Massachusetts to sell this spring. They bought some land here, on the lake about 10 years ago. We have so many transplants that you are more likely to hear a NEW YORK accent in line at the grocery store than the local Southern dialect. That being said, if you find a place OFF the lake, the prices are great and most of your neighbors will be locals. We have access to great medical care nearby in Roanoke, VA and the overall cost of living is much less than up North. Taxes are low , for now..., and most local governments are very conservative, NOT PROGRESSIVE!! ( Roanoke CITY being the exception to the rule ) MOST IMPORTANTLY, MUCH LESS SNOW!! :-) Consider taking a look at Bedford, Franklin, or Floyd counties. I bet you'd like it. Let me know if I can help. Lastly, lots of old tractors sitting in barns, waiting to be restored..if you are into that! Good luck.

WOW!!!! I just finished reading the entire thread. I feel so sorry for all you guys! I would be soooooooooooB.S.! New Holland should have some kind of mitigation program corporate-wide that is not up to the individual reps to determine who gets what, if anything at all. Back in 2004, I was seriously looking at New Holland. I went with Cub Cadet. But, I was real close to pulling the trigger on a NH. I got lucky. I sure hope all of you that suffered getting split asunder ended up in a good place. :-)
For myself, I won't EVER buy a New Holland product; if for no other reason than to support your cause in protest by withholding my money. Good Luck all.

I have a 2005, double cab, long bed, 4x4, TRD sport pkg, tow pkg, 4.0 ltr, V-6, Automatic trans with every option available except leather. As of june 2006, I had 10,000 miles on it. I get 16 mpg around town and 20 mpg on the hwy. usually driving around 65mph. I live in the blue ridge mtns. of VA so there is alot of hill travel. I sometimes tow a Cub Cadet 7532 with FEL and backhoe on a double axle, 16 foot trailer.(about 6,000 lbs.) When I do this, I get 12 mpg around town and about 17 mpg on the hwy. driving at 55mph. I have found that following the manufac. rec. octane rating of 92 or better gets me the higher end of the mpg spectrum, but not by much. The big bonus of using the high octane is that the computer is calibrated to generate 245 hp only when using super unleaded. Comparing the old style tacomas with their anemic 185hp v-6 to the new tacoma and its 245hp v-6 is not going to give you an accurate mpg estimate. The top tow rating for the new tacoma is 6500lbs if you get all the factory options needed. If you only tow occasionally, and in the 2-3k lbs range, My advice would be to go for the 4 cyl. IF YOU WANT A DOUBLE CAB, GET THE V-6!! The extra weight of the double cab demands the V-6. Hope this helps.

Been saving up to buy a Kubota B3030. I have the opportunity to get a Cub Cadet 7532 with loader and backhoe. Any input on one vs. the other? Can buy the Cub now (less $) Must wait on the 3030 for another 6 months or more. I' m concerned about parts availability on the Cub and the turbo 32 hp mitsu engine makes me wonder if it's less durable compared to the non-turbo Kubota 30 hp engine. IF I want the Cub, I've gotta move quick. ANY input would be greatly appreciated THANKS GUYS.

Hi greg. Iam careful not to put the rake in float mode. But on a 48", it may not matter. I can't read all of yor comments because I am not yet a premium member. I'll be upgrading soon though. Thanks.

A couple of years ago, our oldest (and first) beagle, Magnum, had cancer. We brought him to the Vet school at North Carolina State Univ. Four months of chemo and radiation. Several surgeries and he lived about a year and a half longer than he would have. We drove him once a week 8 hours round trip and an overnight stay each time for four months. Would do it all again in a heartbeat. He was a great dog.

I have owned the 900 RTV since 2/2005. I got the cammo model with all the bells and whistles. I test drove all of the competitors models. What sold me on the Kubota was the non belt drive tranny. I am clearing trees, hauling HEAVY loads up STEEP hills. It is really nice to be able to stop by merely letting your foot off tha accellerator. I have hauled 25' long trees 8-10'' in diameter up a 45-50 degree incline with rocky soil without any problems. Have been stuck once. That was on the same hill, I had stopped with one of my back tires on a flush-cut rotted stump and a large rock in front of my front tire. I winched out. My chief complaint is the shifter. If I have a heavy load, uphill, I need to start the hill in the gear that I will finish the hill. Shifting on a hill, underload is not possible. I have tried all of the fixes offered up on this as well as other websites to no avail. The shifter mechanism is stiff and difficult to change underload. Kubota NEEDS to come up with a fix for this problem. Otherwise, I am very happy with the RTV.

I have a 1987 Dodge Ramcharger with a 5.9 V-8. I have done some extreme modifications to the entire truck. I put on a K&N air filter but didn't see much change in HP, torque, or fuel economy until I opened up the exhaust by installing a free flow catalytic converter, flowmaster 44 muffler and dual stainless steel 3" exhaust. The old advice is true, if you cram more air in, its gotta go somewhere. So, you have to allow for a more freeflowing exhaust. The best increase in HP and fuel economy came when I installed a throttle body spacer. Several aftermarket spacers are available. They are much less expensive that a K&N filter and I beleive they deliver much better results for the money. Good luck.
