I have a King Kutter 6ft. rotary mower. I'm trying to get the blades off to tighten the gear box which loosened up. I removed the 1 1/2" nut. It looks like there is some kind of nut inside the blade plate, something that gets loosened by banging it with a screwdriver? The manual isn't showing whatever it is inside. I assume there must be some kind of splined nut on the shaft that spins the blade and shaft as one. Does anyone know how to get the blades off? This is the second day of working on this in which my patients has worn thin. So before the blow torch or sawsall comes out I figure I'd ask you all first.

Actually many other countries have as much or more natural resources. The problem is their corrupt governments. Which I fear is where we are headed, especially with this outrageous amnesty plan. But at this point in time, yes we have a great country. I tell my kids often, kings of just a few hundred years ago did not live like the vast majority of us live in this country. John Deere is offering 0% for 3yrs. Doing the math, that's a better deal than buying a slightly used machine. I'm waiting for the dealer to get back to me on a price, the salesman on Saturday, when I test drove it was useless. I agree, it seemed like a very competent machine. Good luck with yours.

I forgot to ask you if that price was for SS? What do think of that price I mentioned? It's at a dealer and they say it's very clean. It's a few miles from me so I'd have to go look at it on the weekend.

You're not kidding, the guy was busted 2 1/2 years after I bought the tractor I had, and only because his old lady turned him in. He had somthing like $100,000 ~ $300,000 worth of stolen equipment on his property when the police showed up. I can't wait to testify against that POS.

"I was told, by a state trooper, that tractors have a hidden identification number."

That's what the state trooper told me too. But three hours later, 2 state troopers left with no identifying serial number. They said the transmission was changed, meaning there could have been a number there. The original owner did know certain things about it, like beauty marks on their wife I guess.

I appreciate the condolences. What's tough is that it's looking like a winter that I've hoped for and now I don't have a tractor. :^( I guess I have to live vicariously through you guys.

There are no titles issued for tractors, but there are serial numbers. If there is a concern, run the serial numbers through the local police department.

These specs are on the Tacoma. Manual transmissions are only offered certain on packages so I'll copy from what's in the broucher. All specs are (city/hwy)

2.4 liter 4 cyl.
