As best I can tell by my plant encylopedia they're bearded Irises. However, I thought Irises had bulb... this don't appear to be bulbs? They don't bloom well because there so thick. I'm gonna then them out this fall, but I'd like to get a positive ID on them.

I thought I had a picture of them in bloom but can't locate it. Any help IDing them would be great. .. I've posted pic's of them: 1,2, and 3.

ACCORDING TO MY WIFE,THEY ARE IRISES .
IRISES DO NOT HAVE BULBS THEY HAVE TUBERS THAT GROW HALF BURIED IN THE GROUND WITH ROOTS THAT COME OUT OF THE BOTTOM.
THEY DO NEED TO BE SPLIT AND THINED OR THEY WILL GROW HOLLOW AND DIE. ....
