Has anyone used a box scraper with scarifiers to take out sod? I have some wild grass that has grown on clay soil that I would like to take out and re-seed. I've got an area about 50'X 150' to take out. The sod is not worth saving. Is there a better implement for sod removal? Thanks, Brian

I've used my scraper to take out sod over areas about that size to make gardens. The soil here is sandy though.

I fully extended the scarifiers and held the blade off the ground with the 3ph and cut the sod along the length and then the across the width. I was left with something like carpet squares. The blade used at a spreading angle pulled most of them up, collected them in the box and left most of the top-soil. ....
