I inherited the tractor from my dad after he passed away. It's a Long 350 diesel. I had some work done on it since it had sat in a barn for 7 years. It was working fine, I actually had it running but when I engaged the PTO, it just shut off. Kind of like I turned the ignition switch off. Now it will not start at all. It turns over, but will not start. The guy I had to work on it before has since retired. Anyone have any ideas?

Very possibly could be a clogged fuel filter. It may have been just getting enough fuel to run without the PTO and the PTO robbed the last of the fuel and now you can't get enough fuel to start. I've run into this with my 2360 a time or two. Change the primary filter then prime the fuel lines and see what happens. ....

check that the fuel shutoff rod did not get bent and that it is moving the fuel shut off lever on the injection pump.
