Just bought a gator 6x4 diesel and when starting out I have to rev the engine up quite abit before the machine will take off. Is there any adjustment in the clutch or a new clutch is in order. Thanks for any insight into this problem. Mark

No adjustment on the clutch that will help you. Gator should start moving as rpms increase, especially the diesel 6x4 since it has the heaviest flyweights of all the clutches. You probably have a clutch roller problem in the drive clutch. They stop rolling and develop flat spots in them. Over time, as the flat spots get deeper, the moveable sheave moves farther away from the stationary sheave because the flyweights rest on the rollers, in this case in the grooves in the rollers. This increased distance requires more rpms to operate the clutch. Also the drive belt could be worn, making it thinner and requiring more rpms to close the clutch. You probably have some of everything. ....
