Had a problem today. My steering would go out intermittenly. Then out completely. By going out I mean the steering wheel would spin like a top with no resistance while no movement in the steering cylinder. I am not a tractor mechanic but decent at figuring out things but with this, i thought someone might save me from tearing everything apart over a simple fix. ty

Symptoms are consistent with the steering cylinder "bypassing". Very common with the 200 Series Jinma, one or more seals inside the hydraulic cylinder is/are leaking internally. When your steering controller (beneath the steering column) pushes fluid down a steering hose - instead of shoving the ram one way or the other to steer the tractor - it passes right by a seal and makes a U-turn back to the controller on the other hose.
The problem is so common, that most Jinma dealers actually carry a steering cylinder repair kit. It's about a $25 item, and - depending upon your mechanical aptitude and tool availability - shouldn't take but an hour to install.
