Ever since I've had my Kobelco Excavator SK015 1992 model it has been very hard to start, even now in warmer weather.
So I have a question about electric diesel fuel shut off switch's.
I pulled it out , but left it connected so I could see what it was doing.
OK---Key position Off ----plunger on switch is out, thus shutting off the fuel.
Key position On---plunger retracts.
Key position Start----Plunger now goes to the out position---thus shutting off the fuel.
After it engine starts the plunger retracts once again.

So is this the way the fuel switch is supposed to work?
Don't see how the engine can start if the fuel switch is shutting off the fuel in srart position.

Rite now I have the switch removed & the engine starts immediately. To shut it off I just stick my finger in the hole where the switch is supposed to be & push the button in just a tad & the engine shuts down.

Note here: I have discovered a little short in the key switch--perhaps that is causing the problem. Have not had time to replace the key switch yet & don't look forward to changing it out----not much room there & concerned bout knoking a wire loose not knowing where. Also Think there is a problem finding a key switch that will fit rite in the existing hole.

For now I will continue to run it with the fuel switch disconnected. I like the way it now starts.

EDIT note---Sat. 6/4----well that is no good as oil leaks out of hole where switch should be---Maybe I should install a old style mechanical cut of valve on the front side of the injection pump ?????

EDIT NOTE # 2 12:30 SAT MORN.
Well almost positive the problem is in the key switch----------------
SOoooooo---can anyone know---will any key switch will work in my Kabelco SK015 OR do I need to get a Kabelco one ??????
