I have a BX1500 which I absolutely love! I have some post holes to dig and am wondering if my tractor is strong enough to support the post hole digger attachment? It is 15HP.
Thanks

Redstart97,

The little BX series tractors are too small to use any ordinary post-hole digger. However, Kubota has teamed up with Land Pride to offer implements designed for with all subcompact tractors.

You'll need to look for Land Pride's PD10 series of post-hole augers.

Your tractor is plenty big enough to handle one of these, but you may find that you'll have to dig pretty slow when using an auger bit bigger than 9 inches in diameter.

The PD10 series uses augers that are only 30 inches in length, which allows the subcompact tractors room to lift and transport the auger without having it drag on the ground behind the tractor. You'll also find that you won't be able to dig as deep as you would with a standard post-hole digger.

See the link below.

Joel,
Thanks for the advice. That looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Speed and great depth aren't really much of a concern to me.
Any idea what these cost?
Thanks,
Garner ....

Redstart97,

I checked with IronSearch.com, TractorHouse.com, and Ebay. There are no PD10 augers listed at any of my favorite sites. Therefore, I have no idea what one of these augers would cost you.

You'll have to visit either a Kubota or Land Pride dealer.

There's a new device on the market (forgot where I saw it, though), a stand for holding the auger when off. Makes on/off/storage easier. Or you could fabricate one. ....
